First and foremost it was the worst service I have had in a long time. The hostess and waitress were very rude and acted as if we were stupid. As for the food, the appetizer was amazing but the sushi itself (we ordered off the specials menus) were lackluster and best. One was good, one only tasted of basil (the squid apparently was just for show), and the last tasted like nothing...at all. I will never go back and would not recommend this restaurant.

This was by far the best sushi i've ever tasted. Although it was a sushi restaurant, the cooked food was equally good. Especially the whitefish app. It was a spin on the typical tempuras. By using whitefish instead of the typical shrimp or vegies, it already added its own style to it. On top of that, the chef added a really good parsley sauce, that just made my mouth water thinking about it. I kept the sauce for the entire dinner to dip my sushi in.

Three friends and I walked in to Kaze the other night and spent well over $300 for my birthday dinner. The food (we mostly focused on nigiri and rolls, but sampled some apps and desserts) was some of the best, if not the absolute best I've had. Words can't describe how good the Unagi and Hamachi are. Unfortunately, we were extremely turned off by the service, and hope it was just an unlucky pairing with a very ignorant and pretentious waitress named Lisa. The service was adequate at best, however every question we had was met with a roll of the eyes, followed by a suggestion of something that was more expensive. There was a special Saki pairing for $10/person, but she talked us into a whole bottle instead ($58) which did not even sufficiently pour the four of us. When we asked about this, she obviously heard us and then promptly changed the subject to appetizers. The evening ended with Lisa refusing to give my date a candle for a special dessert she had brought for my birthday (we also ordered an expensive dessert off the menu)and then charging us for a "birthday dessert" that we didn't order. Hopefully this was just one bad experience in an otherwise fabulous restaurant. Having been the GM of several over the last 15 years, I'm willing to give it another chance just for the Unagi alone...

The nigiri sushi is the best in town. Holy cow, it's so awesome. Kaze specializes in the nigiri while all the other restaurants focus on the rolls. The special salmon nigiri is prepared with mushrooms, Japanese white salt and truffle oil. It was expense but worth EVERY dollar. I was falling asleep at dinner but as soon as I tasted the the sushi, my eyes lit up. It is SO good. You have to try it. You won't regret it.

Great for the chi-chi and surprising...had a melt-in-your-mouth buffalo appetizer that I never expected to find at a sushi joint. Tasty special nigiri like salmon with enoteki mushrooms on top. The basics were disappointing, though: my spicy tuna handroll was small and not bursting with fish. Superb service.

This was my first time out for sushi. I went with a sushi connoseur. She agreed it was the best ever! Kaze successfuly introduced and sold me the sushi concept. Great service, comfortable atmosphere...I'll be back.

Its AWESOME! The BEST - I was blown away - they do some sort of tourch blowing to the sushi or something that makes it so so so good.
