this review is slightly inaccurate in that claims the crowd is dominated by teens. It's actually diverse mix of high school AND college kids. It's bigger then this article let on, in terms of it's appeal.

I love that area, and it's like the perfect spot for a coffeehouse...Nice ambience with books, couches, and board games...Could lose the creepy old dudes and the smoke!

it used to be my home, my life, i used to own the place... i just wanted to say hello to all the "old" customers who still remember me and have good thoughts of me as i have of them, i miss you all, joanna

The only good thing about this place is when the comedy troupe Big Dog Eat Child plays there. I would recommend going see one of their shows but the most of what else I've seen there seems to be kids with bad bands or people trying to be funny at open mic night and failing.

As a semi-regular, I love this place. It has a friendlier less reserved atmosphere then any other coffee house i've been to. The people are awesome. Bring a book, or bring a group of friends to sit down and play cards or a board game. Much friendlier then any corporation owned place.

My band just recently played a show here on Friday. The PA was pretty good and the whole place just feels cool to play at. You get the option to charge a cover fee or make the show free, if you charge a charge people to come, then you get all that money. The only problems I noticed was due to so many people that came, it was hotter than hell in there. A window could have been opened! Also, it is not a very big room, and then had all the chairs stacked around taking up tons of space. It is a great place for bands to play. Cool environment, cool kids. A-

this place makes you realize how utterly deprived the burbs are of independent, local coffeehouses. having said that, it's rather inevitable that this place is saturated with all of burbs' discontents. don't hate on the younger people coming here- maybe they're coming for the alternative ambiance, but so are the rest of you. come enjoy the fine selection of beverages and the spectacle of identity politics.

I can't comment on any of this "being a regular used to be special" business, but my bands (The Plurals and My Apology) played there in August on a little tour we threw together and it was by far the highlight of the trip. We got a good reception and met some very cool people. So yeah, thos're me thoughts.

I miss Joann and Petra. The place died after they left. Once upon a time my ID was on the wall now I wouldn't step foot in there. Not because of John but because the regulars suck. Annoying 18 year olds.

When this place first started, it catered to the offbeat client. The type of person who wanted a nice place to hang out and meet interesting new people. Now it has become quite popular with the teeniebopper/prep crowd, popular kids who would fit in anywhere they went. and it has lost it's heart because of it. Whereas before, it was a cozy hangout where regulars where honored with and old i.d. framed on the staircase wall, now those have been taken down and being a regular their is just like being a regular at starbucks: another $3.50 in their pockets.
