My friend took me here for my birthday and unfortunately I wished she had taken me out to a real restaurant. The instructor seemed to be more interested in moving the class along than teaching anyone. Lots of product selling. Just wasn't for me.

I am going to the Napa Valley to take a weekend cooking course and wine tasting class with Jill Prescott in November. I went to her school in Wisconsin after seeing her in Washington DC on her PBS show and at a booksigning! She said she was opening in Chicago but then closed as she was being forced to merge with wood mode's cooking school. Anyway, we are looking forward to taking her classes in the Napa Valley this November. We have taken classes all over but this woman teaches amazing classes.

I also received a gift certificate for the Jill Prescott Culinary School. I was stunned to find out Jill had closed and could only redeem my certificate at the Chopping Block. I had already taken a few classses from Shelly Young and was terribly disapointed. Boo!! Raw deal! When is Jill going to open again?

I received a gift certificate for the Jill Prescott school but found that school closed as it was being forced to merge with the Chopping Block. I am a serious home cook and was looking forward to the course with Prescott as my secretary had taken several Prescott courses and was very impressed. The classes at the Merchandise Mart with the Chopping Block were were basic and not worth my time or money. The instructors did not know any more than I did. The food and instruction was terrible and ill prepared.

It's to bad the Jill Prescott Culinary School has closed. I took several classes from her in Kohler, WI and in the Chicago location. I am waiting for her to reopen before I take classes anywhere else.

My sister and I just went and took the pasta making class last night at the Lincoln Square location and had a great time! There were four of us at our station but we all made our own pasta, and helped in making the different sauces. We made ravioli's, fettuccini, and angel hair pasta. For $75/person, it was a little expensive but I'd definitely go back!
