Not much for me to say here that hasn't already been said except, how do you screw up a pizza in this city? The GF and I came here before a play. We split an order of artichoke dip (not bad) I ordered the Walleye Pike (pretty good) she had a personal pizza which was about the most bland, sauceless pizza I have ever had in this city, and that is saying something... I've had 'em all. I don't know how they can justify having that on the menu. I'll give them a point for the atmosphere, the live jazz was nice. They may want to switch to something other than the "dentist office jazz radio" between sets though. As for the service, well, our waiter was attentive at first and then as soon as drinks needed to be re ordered, he was nowhere to be found. The hostess, at least, saw we had been waiting and came over to fill our drink order but the place wasn't even that crowded. Bottom line - Lakeview is a full of places better than this, I wouldn't willingly some back here and if I did, I'll stay away from the pizza.

I have gone to joeys a great amount of times. the atmosphere is great so i keep trying to give it another chance. Unfortunately the food is all a little less than mediocre especially for the price. the tuesday special is misleading..you are only allowed to get two pizza toppings and the only beer we could get was soporo even though the server originally told us all drafts. also the brunch there is simply put...horrible, and so is the service. I have never had an even descent server at Joeys. I love the atmosphere but refuse to give them another shot.

One of the better restaurants I've experiernced in my two years in Chicago. The food was good, hot and very filling. The $20 half rack of baby back ribs was outstanding. Service was good. I loved it.

"Specials abound at Joey's, most notably the $15 all-you-can-eat-and-drink Tuesday dinner... Tuesdays give you endless pizza"

As of 3/20/2007, they limit you to one smallish sized pizza per person, not mentioning anything like that in writing in the menu, so it certainly isn't "endless pizza" any longer. It was nice having no limits on tap beer, but that wasn't what we went there for. (Choices were Stella Artois, Pilsner Urquell, and a Rogue Amber)

I had dinner at Joey's last night and what I thought would be a great experience ended up being one of the worse.

The service was horrible. We had a flighty waitress that was also tending bar and pretty much forgot we were there. I asked for details on one of the salads and she failed to tell me it was saturated with red onions. I then expected to get pine nuts and asiago cheese in the salad as listed on the menu, but these ingredients never made it into my salad. Maybe they went into someone else's plate who knows. By the time our waitress came back to serve us water almost 20 minutes later I mentioned that I was missing ingredients & she didn't seem to be concerned at all. What's with the service in this place. Based on the fact that Joey publishes customer complaints on his menus, it's evident he doesn't realize customer service comes first. First and last time I'd eat at Joey's.

Joey's Brickhoues: Made me vommit for three days straight from the ahi salad. Talked to Joey and he seemed appolagetic on the phone and said he would send us a gift certificate, the least he could do. I was like OK, maybe it was just a bad batch. Never even received the gift certificate. Don't know how an owner of a restaurant would not want to appease a customer because, we all know "word of mouth is the most powerful form ofadvertisement." So to you Joey, not the smartest business move.$50 gift certificate or my story told over and over again to circles of friends in all parts of the city. Well, tons of people know the name of your resaurant however the story leaves a less then desirable taste in the mouth!!!!

Food here is good, but service is horrific. We almost missed the start of a play because the service was so poor. Owner was rude and not apologetic about the slow service. I'd go to a million other places in the city before I went back here again!

I recently found this gem! What a great addition to the neighborhood. I love the fun atmosphere and the food is unpretentious, just fabulous. Its reasonably priced and I love the fact that Mom is the hostess, their son Joey is the Chef, and the rest of the family is there as well. You can tell they really treat each customer like you are friends and family!
