From my experience, this place doesn't even start getting patrons until after about 2:15 as people randomly come in from nearby bars and concert venues with earlier closing times. This may have changed since the dive bar nearby at Damen and Lawrence has closed. I've noticed somewhat of a hipster crowd developing on Friday (and to a lesser degree) Saturday nights. Transsexuals, yuppies, older hardcore drinkers, working class people...weird mix but I've never noticed an altercation. Not much of a drink selection but this is not for sophisticated drinkers, but instead for those who want to knock themselves out on whatever. I've never seen food served or eaten here, so not sure what the story is there. Hopefully it will remain untrendy as it is one of the very few bars anywhere around where the yuppies don't scare everyone else away. Food is conveniently close nearby for the afterafterbar munchies. Happy boozing!

Very, very random, but has that certain random charachter that is sure to get run over with hipsters one of these days. On second thought, don't come here, better you stay away.
