Whats up with the too many attitudes bull! Anyways, No need for that and if your going to work as a bartender you need to RELAX!!!!!!!!!!!!

No frills cool bar with eclectic crowd. A much welcomed relief from many other "frat boy" "yuppie" hang outs. One bartender is kinda rude, but the rest are cool. The owner is also pretty cool. Reasonable prices and plenty of parking.

The Skylark would be a welcome addition to Southside bars if only for its dark Prohibition-era decor. But coupled with that, its wonderful beverage selection, decent kitchen and affordable prices, the Skylark rises above the mundane. A serious caveat though- the Skylark has an abundance of hipper-than-thou artistes/bohos who really aren't artists/writers/musicians: IF YOU CAN"T MAKE A LIVING FROM YOUR ART ETC... DON"T CALL YOURSELF AN ARTIST/MUSICIAN/WRITER ETC.( what you are is a barista/bike messenger/computer programmer/telemarketer/sales clerk etc. who paints/writes/composes etc. ON THE SIDE.(and just because I've posted this review does not make me a bar or restaurant critic either...)

Actually the bartender will give you shit if he is in a bad mood. Too many attitudes here, and too many attitudes in Chicago bars in general. What are you guys trying to prove?

Friendly bar, good music selections, and the bartender will give you shit only if you've got it coming.

Love this bar, I go there every Thursday. The staff is friendly, beer is cheap, and food is good. Sometimes can get too smokey, but its a bar, can't expect the air to be pure. Needs a pool table, but the photo booth and pinball adds entertainment.
