They have free food and bands every Friday night. The food is usually delicious, a real meal not just bar crap. Stuffed peppers, bbq chicken and pork, roasted veggies etc... The bands are hit or miss, sometimes like last night (Oct 19th) they are all great (sorry I didn't catch the names) and sometimes it's not so great but it's free so who's complaining?

My favorite secret hangout. Nobody seems to know it exists aside from a select group of ultra underground artists and musicians, which I get the feeling is fine by all involved. Great low-key place to hang out and have a few beers during the week. Even better place to play shows if you are in a local band. None of the hipster attitude to deal with like at most other live music spots, everyone is very laid back. Some really great bands have played at Hotti Biscotti and continue to do so. Thumbs up.

Yea, Hotti Biscotti, what to say - I lived in the neighborhood for a few years so I went there often. And all the negative stuff is true - the owner really doesnt know what she's doing yet thinks she does, the employees give new meaning to the word slacker, I mean they honestly do - it really is an amazing feat the level of slacker they achieve, seriosuly, just try booking a gig there. Can be a good place to play if you are a local musician and need a place to try things out which is what I used it for. Otherwise if your into not caring about anything (Service, coffee, sobriety) then this might be the place for you, otherwise its a joke.

I enjoyed the reviews of this place, they are right on the mark. It is a smoky juke joint that will let you do about anything when performing. Yes, there hardly is any food, or coffee, and if there is your going to get folgers but the local flavor of "the south side of Fullerton" is definetly a reason to stop by. This is one of the last true places left in Chicago that somewhat resmebles what coffee houses use to be like 10 years ago. Lately there has been a troupe of commedians stopping by on wednesday evenings who represent the vulgarity of west humbodlt/logan sqaure at its finest. To make a correction from one of the reviews, only vegetarian food is served on saturdays.

Hottie is perhaps the last underground "legit" bar in Chicago. Great jazz improv on Tuesday nights, and Saturday night is anyone's guess. Well worth a visit if you can tolerate the cigarette smoke often times.

Dropping by to say out load, maybe too loud, that I was super happy to find out that spring music at Hotti Biscotti starts with Hotheelsrecords’ performance (referring to March, 2, 2007). Simply great beginning for the best season of the year. I am sure it is going to make me feel warm because that is what good music at the good place is about

  • Come on Tuesdays and have a few says:

Listen people. If you want coffee, go somewhere else. If you want, lincoln park, you know where it is. No food is served there any longer as far as I can tell. The sign says hottie biscotti but it should say outside music venue. No coffee. No berets. Tuesdays Jim Baker and Co. kill everyone with a set or two of some improv jazz. Yeh. Improv jazz. That's what I just said. Then there is a set of some other sonic holyness. Wednesday night anyone can make a hell of a noise. Saturday there are movies or just one and then a band plays.

Tuesday... just remember to come on Tuesday. oh yeh did i forget to mention that there is a bar, and centapede? right.

Sure some of the reviews are less than flattering...but things have gotten supprisingly better at Hotti biscotti. The liquior selection has expanded there is a sizable platter of FREE food on Fridays. Tuesdays and Saturdays when there is a charge for food (cheap at $5 per heaping plate) there is usually some sort of ethnic food served -everthing from ethiopian, thai, indian etc. The selection is limited to the single dish cooked that night but the food is really amazing considering the variety offered each week and the quality is comparable to any quality ethnic resturant! -and you can watch a film for free on saturdays. -Beat that! Yet for those expecting or looking for a family spot -the Hotti Biscotti is still partly a bar and yes, it will be dark and probably smokey. -there is always Chucky Cheese for those family types and Starbucks for those less adventurous types.

Man, I mean Hottie Biscottie, in Latin is numeral Uno,It Rules, I mean this place is on, kicking fat beats that rock like heavy metal. Is it a Dive? 4 sho! Word and that's why we love it and the Biscottie, like a big fat Aunt, loves and spoils us rotten with strong drinks and Guinness Extra Stout! And its always Halloween in there with that good candy in the jars, free like the food. Man I'm listing to some of yall beef'n bout The Hottie and I'm thinking there goes the neighborhood! I mean we already have two yuppie spots in the hood just for you, Streetside and The Boulevard! Come on Captain,Can't we have a home away from yall pretentious pretenses?

p.s and the got that centipede video game. Dude it don't get no better than this sometimes Blues Spot

Yea, I have to agree with all the other reviews of Hotti Biscotti. They have a great potential, but the owners and employees there just don't have it together. I'm not sure they realize the work necessary to make this place what it could be.
