I was blown away by my visit to this nightclub-turned-gourmet restaurant! The last time I was here (3 years ago) it was a dingy hole-in-the-wall bar, and now it's a classy, cozy restaurant with top-notch entrees.
I began with a Chambord "Motini", Morseland's take on a Mojito with the addition of chambord liqueur. What a treat! A gorgeous indigo color, and intense taste that was minty, sweet, and tart at the same time.
My Southern Fried Catfish was delectable--moist, flaky, and perfectly cooked, with a very light golden brown breading. The corn relish topping, of which I was originally skeptical, actually worked quite well. $15 for such a tasty dish isn't bad, especially when entrees come with 2 sides of hearty proportions!!
I was delighted by the seasonal offerings on the menu, and promptly chose the Sweet Potato/Corn Fritters and Acorn Squash/Apple Cider Bisque for my side dishes. Both were utterly delightful; sweet, but not overly so, with just the right balance of salty-- and perfect uses of the season's flavors and vegetables.
All in all, prices were a bit higher than I was expecting, especially given the neighborhood, but as portions were huge and the quality of the food was excellent, I didn't feel ripped off at all. I will definitely return, to sample more of the chef's fantastic offerings!

Went there on a Wednesday night. Everyone there was extremly friendly and the pool is free. The music was great, but not so many people. I would have loved it if it was packed with people on the dance floor. I'll be sure to check it out again once school is in session.

Morseland has the best David Margaritas! Also has a beautiful outdoor cafe to sit, eat great food, and enjoy the music. Friendly mix of people! Reasonable prices and highly recommended.

The new Morseland is great, good food, nice place, etc. But I still do miss the Morseland of yesteryear also.

I have been there a couple of times on a Tuesday night which is Reggae night and it's great. Drinks are good and cheap, and the food is good - at least the appeitizers are. It's a nice place when you want to step out, but do not want the hassle of Bucktown or Wicker Park.
