My husband and I happened across this darling little gem on an exploratory walk down Clark. It started to rain during our walk so we ducked into the first bar we found. We sat at the bar, found the decor quaint, and the bartender friendly. The place was not overly crowded, but most of the seats at the bar were full. We weren't quite ready for dinner, so we enjoyed their spinach dip in a bread bowl (it is served with lavash, and, though the lavash is a little flimsy for the heavy spinach dip, it was tasty), and their Irish cheese plate. They don't have a huge beer selection, but since my husband was drinking Guinness, it was fine for him. I prefer Islays, and they had Lagavulin, making me a happy camper. Out of the cold Chicago rain, good scotch, decent beer, a small snack...our idea of pleasant finish.

Ah, this is more like it. A gem of a place stuck in the middle of the urban wasteland that is this stretch of Clark Street. Excellent food, music, and atmosphere. Really friendly staff, and I detected quite a few accents from the old country. I shall return ( with gold in great store maybe? ).

Had a nice dinner at Galway, better than I expected. Had the cobb salad and veggie burger. Non smoking area a bit small, but nice. Didnt get into the bar area, but looked nice. Prices were good too.

I don't know where to begin. I could get better Fish and Chips at Arthur Treacher's. The bars was a dressed up, hole in the wall. To say the service was decent is being polite. Worst of all, the Guinness was overpriced.

I could think a half a dozen pubs in Lincoln Park/Lakeview that beat this place hands down.

Absolutely outstanding... An interesting change from the standard plethora of Irish places in the city. I imagine that the biggest difference here is that they have employed a real chef, hence the quality of the food; no corned beef and cabbage nonsense here. Each time I have visited everything has been outstanding ( even the busboys are friendly). This is, without doubt, the best Irish place that I have been to anywhere in the United States.
