I have been to HATM four times this year. Last week there was a party of 11 that I led there based on my past experience. We arrived at 8:30. The upper level was shut off even though every table on the lower level was full. We asked a guy who worked there why the upper level was not open. He was a basic smartass. A waiter told us it would open at 10:00. I asked for a manager and was told there was not one present. We left and went to the REd Head Piano bar and had a great time. We will not be back at HATM

I still have mixed feelings about this place. The cover is expensive ($10), as are the drinks (which are WEAK too - don't go for the novelty stuff, I drank an entire bucket o' margarita and barely got buzzed, but my friend's rum&coke was mixed nicely), and it gets VERY crowded quickly (get there before 7 on a Saturday). But if you can get over all that, well... this place is definitely fun. I had a great time, especially since I wasn't paying for my own drinks.

My friends and I go to Chicago every year and last year we came across Howl at the moon. It was the most fun we have had in ages. That will be our annual Friday night hang out when we are in Chicago. You have to get there early because it is small and there are not enough tables the doors open at 5pm.

Kind of the same old (tired) dueling pianos that sprang up elsewhere in the mid-80s and 90s (i.e. Dallas' "Alley Cats", may they rest in peace!, "Phoenix Live", etc.). Been to many similar clubs around the U.S.; this one is a little less raunchy than most. Regular drinks overpriced; stick to whatever the specials are. Gets crowded between 8-10PM during the week, then practically empties out. Too loud to have much conversation 90% of the time. If you find yourself stuck in a nearby hotel like I was, it's about the only place around that has some good people watching.

This place is a horrible place to have a bachelorette party. The GM was not very helpful and in fact rude to us when we had questions. We paid WAY to much money for 3 buckets of drinks and a BIG headache! Didn't even get a table. Roasting the bachelorette consisted of the chicken dance, THAT'S IT! AWFUL!!
