They stole my portfolio and I've contacted a lawyer...if ANYONE knows how to reach these people please let me know asap. We are on a man hunt to put BOTH Chad and Rick in jail for theft.

WOW its great to hear that the gallery is closed. I used to work for this ungrateful man, and only because i had very little choice. By the way Coup de gras catering is owned by him. the kitchen was at the back of the gallery. run by people like me and other broke collage students. when he hired me he told me and others that we will get paid minimum wage plus tips. so when pay day came around he paid us in cash with the tip money our hourly wage. so my average 2 week pay was 100-300 dollars. He would also constantly sexually harass me, and no Im not a girl. so when my friend and I who worked the same as I did got paid half as what i did per week just because she was a girl, and when tax time came around i had to file late because i was trying to get a W2 from him, so finally my friend and I reported him to the IRS.

Rick is a bad person to do business with, he is not a honest man. He is very shady. IRS watching him for tax evasion.

Rick not only rips off clients, but he also neglects to pay his artists. He is one of the most unsavory and absolutely conscienceless people I have ever met. He is known for reinventing himself and setting himself up in new businesses. Please do not be drawn into exhibiting your art or purchasing art or services of any kind from him. It is a losing proposition.

Same scam happend to me here, I also won a party here and got completely scammed. Rick took my thousand dollar deposit and never refunded it. He followed me around at the party incessantly and insulted half my guests. The food was sparing. One bartender was at the party and one waiter for 40 guests. It was embarrassing and sad that this person tried to pull off himself as a caterer. I am happy also to hear this place is closed. I think that someone should call the Feds on this scam to see how many others he ripped off.

Thank goodness this place is closed. Run by scam artist on the run Rick Schmitz, the demise of this notorious artist ripoff palace is being applauded by the entire Chicago Artist Community. Rick is on the run folks, beware if he appears in a newly facaded gallery near you!

I am writing this review because this was one of the biggest rip off sof my life. I won a package for 20 people ($1500.00 value) at a silent auction. I paid $600.00 for the package. High Risk first of all wanted to charge me an additional $795.00 for tax and gratuity. After expressing how rediculous this price was, i was called with a new price $425.00. I decided to have the party and was uner the understanding that 6 appetizers and a full bar would be included. When I walked in the doorof the Gallery with a few friends, I was abruptly asked for the check...quite embarrasing!! I gave the check and awaited for them to put out the appetizers on the large table they set out. We were brought the chinsiest appetizers that you would ever eat. They would not feed a bird!!! Witers were bringing them out 10-20 minute intervals and as sparingly as possible. I really should have got the group together and left!!! It was aweful!!! I felt totally ripped off and this should not have happened. I do NOT recommend this gallery to anyone. I am going to find other sights that are asking for information about this gallery and will tell them the same thing. I wanted to stop payment on the check, but my husband would not let me. He does, and so do ALL of my guest feel that it was a huge rip off!
