I had heard so many great things about Coast before I went, and finally got the chance to go with a date. I was amazed by the size of the place and even more astounded by the fact that there was not 1 empty table and there were people waiting! The sushi is top notch, and the ambience is great for date night, parties, or a casual dinner. The only negative is that if you show up more than 10 minutes past your reservation, you'll lose it -- this place is popular!

Couldn't have asked for a better place to eat. Signature roll sunrise was great, as well as the old favorites like the crunchy spicy tuna. We had to wait 45 mins for a table of two but cannot complain when it is BYOB.

great food. the only problem i have with coast is that they are not very accomadating to parties of more that 4. i've been there a couple of times when there have been ample tables available, but they were reluctant to combine tables to seat a party of 5 or 6.

If you are looking for good food but horrible service, look no further. We visited this sushi joint on 12/9/05. This sushi place offers a good atmosphere and pretty decent sushi (nothing compared to sushi wabi on randolph). As far as the service? Well lets see, first of all our server would walk away in the middle of us ordering and wouldn't come back. We had to get a bus boy to get her so we can complete our order. Then after paying a $150 bill, we were finishing up our wine, and the server asked us to leave our table to con't our coversation because there are other people waiting for the table, yet there were 3 other available tables. When we complained to the manager, she just stared and said nothing. HORRIBLE. Stay away from this place.

Some friends and I went here for my birthday, and it was great. The sushi is phenomenal - very fresh and well-presented. The signature rolls are worth trying, but beware, the Po' Boy roll is HUGE! It took 2 of us to eat it, and we barely finished it. It was well worth it, though -- simply delicious!

Out of all of the thousands of sushi spots in Buck Town and Chicago, Coast is my favorite. They have a nice amount of special maki rolls and their menu is by far the best in town. I would eat there 7 days a week!

The Cleveland Steamer is awesome. The Rusty Trombone is a little too stinky for my taste. BYOB - Moose Head favors every entree.
