OrganicDominick says: On Sunday 10/5/08 10:34 PM ---------------------------------- I'm not realy reviewing this restaurant, because I am going there tonight specifically because "OrganicDominick" wrote such a hilarious review. Wow. OD has some very serious personality disorders. Dude, she messed your leather shoes? Whoa. And what's that about your 3 year old using chop sticks? Sorry. Don't believe.
OD - You have some serious entitlement issues for sure. And it is about time to stop insulting us "inlanders". In case you didn't know, the next leader of the free world is an "inlander". Next time, go back to whatever wonderful place you are form, and take your perfect little 3 year old with you. We don't need your perfect expectations, your knowledge that everyone has it in for you, and take your goddam Gucci loafers with you. We have winters here. We wear boots, and they don't mind a little rice.

Kook was a horrible, zero personality server and ruined my night out with my kid. She lied about her name. She had an attitude that fits an old bitter social worker not a server at a restaurant. When wiping the table down next to me she sent rice flying onto my leather shoes without notice. I would avoid her at all cost. I can't say the food rocks either you just can't get the quality sushi when you are inland, but it wasn't bad compared to other places I have visited out here. The atmosphere is great but not good for kids. I asked my waitress for a knife when the sushi came as I was dinning with my 3 year old. She told me they didn't have any. I asked her to take the food, which we hadn't touched at all at that time, back to the chef to cut each piece again and she flat out said no and offered a fork. The people at the table next to me were just astonished as I was. I had to rip his food apart so he could eat it with his chop sticks. Finally I asked her for her name as she retorted, "for what". I said, "You are my waitress right"? Finally she said Pat. I knew she was lying so I asked the other gal working in her section. Her name was really Kook, which was clearly printed on the check under 'server'. That kind of service is unacceptable. If it wasn't for Ann and another gal there that were supper cool and nice to my son, I would have left without paying. This is a very tough economy and for the price the experience was horrible. I will not be returning, ever!

I have been there over 40 times bringing business associates and friends and the food is always great. Plenty of rolls to choose from in the buffet along with miso soup and appetizer included in the price. If you get there the line might be out the door but if your looking for a great deal on all you can eat maki rolls it's worth the wait.

this review is not totally true. yes, sushi buffet is a great value and has many, great rolls to choose from, BUT.. you do not have to order two at a time. you can order as many as you like. Even just one, which is helpful when you want just one more roll, but at everyone else at the table is full. and I've been going there for the past 3 years and have never been charged for leaving rolls on the plate. enjoy!!

I used to like going to this restaurant but they have a very bad rule. That you have to have at least 2 people to get the buffet. I often go out to lunch or diner by myself and found this very upsetting. I have since found a new sushi place called Sushi Para II. There you can have many different more different items including appetizers. Sushi ParaII does not have such silly rules. You may dine alone. They will be getting my business from now on.

My cousin and I went there because my cousin was craving sushi. Don't get me wrong, I love sushi but I never really like the overpricing of the food. Most of the time we're paying for the name of the restaurant rather than the quality of the food. The place is quaint and the staffs are attentive. The appetizer and miso soups were good. I love the that they have so many options for the buffet section. I think this place is the best place to take someone who wants to have sushi for the first time. We tried eight different kinds of makis and they're all delicious. I would definitely go back again.

I loved it. We made it there an hour before closing so couldn't get the "buffet" but what we had was plenty! We had the dinner for two and edamame...and beer. I was terrified of this place when we walked by, but we walked back by when there was nothing else on the street. We peeked in and decided to go for it. Pleasant surprise.

We went there on a saturday late afternoon upon the recommendation of a friend. My boyfriend is not a huge fan of sushi, BUT he thought this place was fabulous. The food is delicious, the price was excellant, and the service was professional. We ordered the sushi buffet, and every one we tried we thought was great. You cant go wrong at all. For 2 people it came to a little under $30. I will come here again for sure!

I am going to try this place out, but everyone here should try Sushi Para and Sushi Para II. They are great and you can order just about anything, including appatizers. They are all you can eat. One is in Chicago (Clark and Fullerton) the other one is in Palatine (on Dundee, past 53) They are owned by two brothers and the food is fresh and tasty. 14.99 for lunch, 16.99 for dinner.

I had lunch here today and was pleasantly surprised. My only disappointment was the somewhat skimpy serving of edamame (which I love almost as much as the sushi). The nigiri in my sushi mori was covered in thick, fresh cuts of fish, my california roll was flavorful and yummy, and the spicy salmon handroll was chock full of yummy salmon, if a little bit difficult to eat. It's a little more expensive than I might have hoped for, but still a lot cheaper than the more 'upscale' places I'm used to, especially since I don't booze it up when I eat out, usually. Give it a shot if you're looking for good, cheap sushi without all that silly ambiance.
