I don't understand what all the hype is about this place. About the only thing I've seen that's popular is the dance classes and some of the old rocker shows. Maybe the community should reconsider it's mission or management. They seem to have a revolving door of faculty, not a good sign.

The Beverly Arts Center is a great south side treasure! There are a wide range of classes available. My daughter has taken art, improv, dance & pilates and loved every class. I have seen many great films at the BACinema on Wednesday nights, showing independent, foreign and classic films all for $7.00! There is also the a wide variety of concerts & plays that are affordable and are close to home. As for art, there is a 2nd floor gallery that regularly changes its display, and is free to everyone! Also there is art through out the hallways. In my opinion, the Beverly Arts Center is a terrific place to visit and be entertained.

Personally for me the Beverly Arts Center is a great place to hear live music, whether your musical interests be jazz, blues, rock, whatever.
The BAC regularly has theater performances, live comedey, flim festivals (Chicago Irish Film Festival, which my mother, my aunt and uncle love) and outdoor festivals (BACtoberfest which has German beer and live outdoor music)
I also have been to the Digital Photo Comeptition this summer (a friend of mine was in the show) and was really impressed by the amount of young local talent. The opening exhibit had an awesome live jazz band (whose name I forget, SAM something Trio) and the place was hopping.
This place is right here where I live and I love the fact that there always seems like there is something going on at the BAC.

This place needs direction and the classes are a rip. If you like to drink and listen to old worn-out rockers this is as good as it gets. Where is the art?
