I went there on the recommendation of a co-worker. Food was ok, though the wait was long- 30 minutes the place was empty. Near the end of the dinner, a bum walked to the back of the restaurant where I was sitting and began to beg for money. Told him to beat it. Immediately paid my bill and left. Called the owner the next day, told him I spent $40 and was harassed by a bum. He asked me if the bum was black of white. I said what difference does that make. He said "You should have knocked him out." Told him that's your job. What a loser.

Boni Vino has great food, the atmosphere is not one of which you would wine and dine but that is what makes it a great place and definitely not for UPTIGHT PEOPLE!

This place sucks. The pizza was burnt and was server on the pan it was baked in - no plates ! When I complained that the pizza was burnt (it was black), the waitress made a rude face, took it back and came back with the same pizza with the burnt part cut off. When we went to pay the bill, the owner just threw the credit card rudely on the table after swiping it. I think this happened to us because we are not white and the folks there are racist pigs. I swear never to go there again !!!

Forget Boni Vino's! The place is dirty and the food sucks. Ive been there many times for parties and the only good thing they serve is beer.

Interesting place - it's definitely dirtier than the average Chicago Italian restaurant e.g. the table cloths are sticky. The pizza with fresh garlic is phenomenal, and infact all their garlic dishes are fantastic. Their fish/chicken/veal entrees suck. If you stick to marinara, garlic pasta or pizza (with any toppings, but you MUST have fresh garlic as one of them) you won't be disappointed with the food.
The service is rough around the edges. I've had sauce spilled all over my pants (yep, in the worst place possible! Try going back to work with a massive red stain surrounding your fly!) But that pizza is so darn good I can't stop going back for more.

The atmosphere is dark and old, yes... but I like dark and old.
The food isn't "fine italian", but its good stick-to-your-ribs stuff. I'm a big fan of the meatballs, and I like their thin crust pizza. Its average Italian at average Italian prices with a kinda funky atmosphere. Its a beer&pizza place, not a wine+pasta place. Just be in the mood for the former when you go, and you'll enjoy yourself.
