Great bar! They had live jazz there on Thursdays and it was an amazing place to be on Thursdays, ready for the weekend! They got poetry slams and other bands like Rico come in. Sergio is a trip to experience, anyways.

Great dive bar... cosy atmosphere. Serg is the best. Lots of locals since it is a bit tucked away. Super friendly place.

Laid-back, folk-rock, great staff and the most eclectic crowd I've seen in Chicago. I saw regular guys, freaks, hippies, yacht club types, hot girls and milfs, all bellied up to the three-sided bar and listening to the groovy band. Outside patio is one of the best! VERY BIKER FRIENDLY.

frazier is a dear friend of mine and a damn good bartender and sergio well what can you say about sergio. if you have not been to weeds please hurry and go for an experience you won't forget especially if sergio is working dora from chgo./wis.

Weeds is the last of the great Chicago bars, a Northsider place with a Southside heart and soul.
They play strange strains of blues, jazz, and on Monday nights, there is the GREATEST POETRY VENUE anywhere. ANYWHERE.
Sergio, the bartender, barely puts up with anything as it is and will snap your neck if you disagree, but he gives away shots of Tequila, and serves up his minimalist emotions along with a decent atmosphere.
Go! You aren't the door yet?

Great place. After a dissapointing night at some other bars in the area, my friends and I came to Weeds, threw back a few cold ones while listening to live music and had a shot (on the house) with the funniest bartender I've ever met. I wouldn't say it's a great place to go dancing, but a great place to hang out with friends.

How could you not love a guy that sleeps on the pool table, gives away shots, speaks a rare form of English, dresses right out of "Farmers Monthly" and has every woman in town swooning over him?

In the times i've been there, i've heard Sergio serenade a half a dozen people with Serg's original songs; observed some amazing pool games, met some great crazies, heard eclectic music and unbelieveable stories, and enjoyed some of the best tasting tap beer ever. Expect anything or nothing at Weeds. I haven't donated my bra yet, but i love Sergio enough, that i'd do anything for that crazy mother!

Paul is my Great Uncle and God Father, Checo is my cousin. My mom would never let me go, but now that I'm 21, I'm going there for the first time after work today...I'll let you know how it is.
