Wine is what gets you in the door and the experience is why you keep coming back. I visit Chicago twice a year and always make a point to stop by and experience Webster's. Webster's is perfect...full of charm and flavors.

This is a great wine bar. Big enough so you dont feel crowded, as I have in others (Ex. Volo, Meritaage, etc.) The wine selection and flights are unique, classic, and all good. The staff is friendly and not pushy. The food was great for the price and they have free parking. One of the best wine bars in all of Chi-Town.

We spent a rainy Sunday afternoon at Webster's Wine Bar and had a wonderful time sampling their wines and cheeses. Our very knowledgeable server gave us some great suggestions and made our experience even better. I could make a habit out of this place!

This is Chicago's oldest and best wine bar because they got it all - a great atmosphere (this is a perfect date place), great wine, very good food, and knowledgeable and friendly staff (a real rarity). As if that's not enough, they have the most reasonable wine prices in the entire city.

This is indeed a very good place, and I say that as a bit of a wine freak. I especially appreciate the staff's knowledge of what they're serving and their obvious love of wine -- there's always something to learn. Also, true that it's not smoky even in the smokers section, so feel free to sit wherever.
Changes I would make:
* The one thing that I haven't seen mentioned in the reviews is that the back room itself is incredibly noisy. Granted there are some loud folks on the north side :), but it seems that even when half full me and friends have to strain to hear each other. The music is louder than necessary, is how it begins. I don't know how it is in the front room as I avoid sitting by the door and the cold draft.
* The fixed wine list is very good as long as you don't want off the beaten path. I think it focuses on the 'great' stuff slightly at the expense of the interesting stuff like South African wines. That said, they're probably right to do so!
* The food is competent bistro food, a step above normal chicago fare, and a great value. I would add a few more items to the menu, but keep portion sizes exactly where they are, as it's a wine bar not a resto.
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL Webster's Wine Bar website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
