Don't go here on a Friday night. Place is empty. Same with next door Excalibur. I would guess most clubs would be empty on a Friday night.

I always have a great time at Vision. I went there Saturday night for The Crystal Method and had an even better time than I expected. The staff is always friendly and welcoming - especially Eddie the bartender - and the dance floor was packed! One of the guys from the Crystal Method even climbed the speakers and scaled the walls until he was hanging off the balcony! My favorite thing about this place is all the rooms. It's like a giant neverending castle and there are so many balconies and tables and booths you can pretty much take your pick of how and where you want to hang out.

I went to Vision for the first time on Saturday to see The Crystal Method. I had an awesome time. The place is HUGE! I guess it's connected to Excalibur too, so that would explain how big it is. We walked in through the Dome Room (which I guess is the main part of Vision) and the DJ's there were playing mixes of songs I hear on the radio. The bars are easy to get to, it seemed like all I had to do was turn around to get a drink. The staff was really friendly too. There are so many rooms and different environments it was hard to decide where I wanted to be. The bartender in the Penthouse was loads of fun, a real showman. The Crystal Method really played a great set, the crowd was totally pumped up and people were dancing on the balconies and in the other rooms to them as well. The dance floor in front of the stage was packed, but the next room over had groups of people dancing to them as well and there was a lot more space there.

I really like that the place has so many nooks and seating areas, so it was easy to find a spot to take a break and chill out. I danced until 5 AM and was ready to keep going. What a great night!

Vision is by far my favorite club downtown, if you are like me and go downtown for the music and not to pick up skank ass drunk chicks then im sure you feel the same way about the venue..They book the top DJ's in the world and the atmosphere is simply amazing...I have seen Tiesto, PVD, Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn....ect...I do admit when PVD, Tiesto, or Armin are there the place gets super crowded, which is why I think they shook book the heavyweight DJs at a bigger place like congress theatre. I love the intimate setting of the place, the Dj booth is right in your face, the sound is good, and I have never had a complaint about the people...I will continue to go there as long as they keep brining the great DJs to Chicago.

You people are crazy. If you want to hear the best djs in the world spin, go to VISION! You can rsvp online for cheaper entry. If you love trance, house, or electronic music in general, go to Vision. the staff is nice, the drinks are strong and no one bothers you! Plus they are open til 5 on saturdays. Vision is not for the casual clubber. You go there to see the concerts. And dont confuse vision with excalibur...the scenes are completely different!

I had fun at Vision, but I say this optimistically. My good time was had "by mistake" as it was an adventure no doubt. Part of the Excalibur mega-club, the complex consists of 3+ stories, a basement/sub-basement, and countless balconies and mezzanines throughout. Weird and surreal architecture (the exterior is a castle with gargoyles), made the experience all the more interesting. Vision is a maze in three dimensions and after countless drinks navigation was a huge challenge. In sum, if I rated the club on its merits, it gets a failing grade, but I enjoyed it, but then again my ideal night is walking drunk through a 3D maze! And there are plenty of bars and iceboxes of beer all over to serve your needs. If you go to a club to dance the night away, then Vision is not the place for you! Problem is the racism! I do not wish to speak ill of the eccentric but reputably kindly Mohawk-wearing owner, but Excalibur is a racist club. I say this because most of the clientele waiting at the door is of Azn descent but I saw almost no Orientals throughout the club except for a small crowded sub-basement room I call the Dungeon in which nearly everyone was Azn. Everywhere else there was a diverse mix of Blacks, Whites, and others but no Azns. My Korean friend and I originally went to find a party, but we were lost in the maze the whole time until we found them in the Dungeon. It is unfortunate that in 2007 a certain minority group must be confined to one room with tiny, dirty bathrooms.

I was there a couple Saturday nights ago when Chris Kelly from KISS FM was there. He was drunk as a skunk but fun as HELL! KISS FM runs the basement room at Vision and has their mixers there doin house/hip hop/freestyle/techno/whatever the crowd wants pretty much. I did notice it was a largely asian crowd so as a white dude I felt slightly out of place, but it was an awesome night overall! Definitely makes sense to try at least for the basement room entertainment. Drink and cover prices aren't too high-standard downtown average.

this is the crappiest bar ever.

its just ok but it thinks it hot stuff.

even if she was the ugliest chick in the world, she would still get in bc she was a girl. guys are SHADY.

line after 11 sucked, drinks sucked, bouncers sucked.

i went to vision the night when paul van dyk was coming, am like for $20 i'll go, when we got to the door they told us its $50. not so good when you love this DJ but i was on a saving plan. when we got in DJ spin was awsome, they had another DJ who made me want to kill myself, he played stuff when i was in high school, i would rather go to 21 and under and hear that. nice venue, staff, but some ungly girls go there who think their all that. i would recomend it when they lower the price ata fare price $30 for paul van dyk and $20 for other. lower prices lower prices lower prices....
