In the 16 years since we discovered BF they have finally done it; BF has turned away from their family-friendly atmosphere, extensive menu, and value-priced dishes in an apparent attempt to become something fancy-schmancy. Portion-control is the order of the day.
Remember when the place was always jammed? with a line of people out the door? Remember when there was a kid's menu? Remember when you could grab a copy off the local paper of the newsrack? Remember when there were handmade quilts, for sale, hanging on the wall? Remember when you always had leftovers to bring home? Well, no more.
While the food (what remains of a once extensive menu) is and always has been delicious, there is now much less of it and at a much higher price.

The food definitely LOOKED good. However, we weren’t able to experience the taste firsthand because no one would serve us! We walked in parched, tired and hungry, after visiting the Evanston lakefront on a sweltering day. We stood for what seemed an eternity waiting to be seated as staff roamed about, blithely ignoring us. One waitress looked our way, then proceeded to chat up the folks at one of her tables. Two other guys stood behind a counter looking at us, but took no action. Another server walked past, never to reemerge. Even though I've read many great reviews for Blind Faith over the years, I dont feel I should have to beg to be given a seat. We’re not going back.

This is the greatest restaurant. Many of the servers remember me each time I come in and the food is always hot and tasty. The specials are usually worth a try, but it's always a fight not to order the corn and potato enchiladas or the seitan fajitas (my husband's fave). I am always stuffed after my meal, too. Great place for kids!

Blind Faith has never caved to the carnivorous masses. It's just about the only place that serves seitan, and does a great job with it. an assortment of healthy foods, Mexican and other varieties.
My favorite are the delectable vegan and vegetarian desserts. Small town athmosphere 15 blocks from NU, the lake and the city.
