My Dad worked for Simon back in the 40s when the meatballs were great adn the bread and cheese terrific. I just wonder if thios is the same Simons. I lived at 5144 N.Ashland and Mons bakery was on the corner of Clark and Foster. Would like to hear from someone. Dave

so here's the plan. you head over to simon's around 8. we'll get tossed and then go watch too much light around the corner.
simon's is like...a really nice dive bar. it has the "hipster" element, but everyone is there to drink. there's a little couch area at the back if you're lucky enough to swoop it, but most likely you'll either be at the 4 or 5 tables along the right wall or at the long bar. it's quite cozy and feels like one of those neighborhood after-work bars.
now, their jukebox is pretty cool. once upon a time they had some blur in there. maybe a little johnny cash. add in some van morrison and we gots ourselves a good selection. i have seen a band in there once upon a time, but i don't know how frequent that is.
so anyway, if you're in the area and you simply want to have a drink, this is your place.
but come on...throw a few back, then cross foster to wait in line for TMLMTBGB.
