i went to this bar a few times but the last time was the worst i had a smelly,fat biker who was married to the bartender carlos hitting on me this guy was around 5ft8 weighed 300 pounds all fat and had lots of tats thinking he was hott he kept taking his shirt off telling everyone how sexy he is and rubbing his fat belly this guy looks like hes using slim slow instead of slim fast i was disgusted must have threw up a dozen times in my glass that in the forst place wasnt even clean if you want to come to a real classy place visit escapades 6300 s harlem ask for me keith

I FREQUENT THIS BAR OFTEN AND ENJOYED THE MUSIC, BUT LATELY I HAVE TAKEN A FEW DATES THERE WITH ME. EACH TIME I HAVE BROUGHT SOMEONE THERE THE BARTENDER CARLOS HITS ON THEM. I SPEND GOOD MONEY THERE AND DON'T NEED MY BARTENDER HITTING ON MY DATES. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVE BECOME DISINCHANTED WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT AND WILL SPENDING MY TIME AND MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE... JOE

What a great bar!! Everyone is so open and friendly! I just happened to find it staying across the street at the hotel. Now I make it a regular stop when I am in Chicago. Carlos pours a great drink and plays good tunes and AJ's bloody marys on Saturday afternoon are the best I have ever had . If you can't have fun at SS it is your own fault.

I was somewhat surprised, thought I was I walking up to Baptist church, did not notice the sign,indicating a bar.When I entered the bar, I saw a large group of folks, on their knees, and other guys facing them.Well I then knew that some of the guys were indeed praying. Hey what the hell,a great bar.

My partner & myself stayed at the Inn Of Chicago across the street. We just happened to look across the street and saw the bar. We went inside and had a drink. We had a great time. It was fun seeing the back room - great choice of videos which help the mood. The main area is a large bar - most everyone sits around the bar as first choice - seats/table around the perimeter of the room. Lights are dim in the bar which gives you a warm, relax atmosphere. Everyone seemed to get along and enjoy each other's company.
We came back for a second visit around 5pm Thursday... much younger and lively crowd. Had a few laughs while watching Queer As Folk Second Season on the 2 tv's in the bar area.
Our next visit to Chicago will include the Second Story Bar. We had a great time hanging out there. No one yelled at us for kissing there.

Everytime I visit chicago I have to make a stop at the second story bar. I always say, don't let one bad experience discourage you from coming back. I have had a great time in this bar and Friday's after work until late seems to be the best night. The guys are always friendly especially in the back -grin, but the bar has an array of people from younger to older... so if you think you're all that.. this bar isn't for you. If you are down to earth, you will have a blast, but then you have to make your own fun. No bar is always fun, you have to make your fun or hit it at the right time. ENJOY!
