Came in for the 20th Anniversary party. Wow! has this place been given a makeover. It looks as fresh and new as it did when it opened in 1987. Fabulous paint, richly restained woodwork all over, classic antique lighting and spots. Unbelievable, and the whole front half is reserved NO SMOKING. No more foul smelling clothes and raspy voice when I got home after. And the staff couldn't be cuter and more fun. This place rocks with a young, friendly and attractive clientele from all over the world.

Roscoes. Been here a million times. Sometimes with friends, whihc is always fun. Sometimes alone, not so much fun.

Went once for "post office?" night. Was feeling a little lonely. Then I befriended the DJ. And then an employee. Always trying to meet the hired help am I. LOL. Then some anonymous person bought me a drink via the mailman. Hello? How about just coming up and saying HI?!

I think the staff are great. Bartenders are attentive. Obviously I think the others who work there are friendly. The people who go there? Well? hard to say. They might be too picky. They might be trying too hard. They might be fronting because they're there with friends. Would be nicer if people could be a bit nicer.

It IS a fab place. HUGE. Lots of spaces to do as you will, dance, drink, cruise, visit with friends.

My only advice is that I wish people would loosen up a bit. Otherwise I do like it and will go back, but usually with company.

Really good space though and great music. A good choice for a night out.

In a word: pretentious! The patrons sashay around like they're royalty and the staff is exceedingly rude. If you like puffy egos, this is your place.

Roscoe's was the first bar/club I went to on my 21st birthday in 2003. I fell in love with the place and it's been my favorite ever since! It's always an inviting atmosphere with friendly staff, excellent drinks and great music. I love that they have different rooms and even an outdoor area! Thanks Roscoe's for many great times and many more to come!

roscoe's was one of the best places i've been to in a long time.. while i was visiting Chicago. Walking in i wasn't too impresed until i kept walking and found other tucked away rooms. Great place.. and Greater People.!

Looked like a fun place for a Th night but the staff was rude and apparantley didnt want any guys under 25 to come in, or maybe we looked too young and they didnt know how to read a Co Drivers license. Either way dont go to that place across the street its full of 50+ men.

It was ok. Not what my friend was making it out to be. Now, Charlies... that was great!!! But I will say, they did make the best long islands i've had in a VERY long time.

Typical bar that advertises "No attitude" and, in reality, is nothing but. Drinks are far too expensive. Roscoe's is the very death of imagination in the Gay community. Aberzombies as far as the eye can see.

As a neighborhood bar Roscoe's is actually quite charming. The bartenders are cute and friendly (Go Joey!) and the clientele are chatty and fun-loving. Roscoe's as a nightclub (Fri. and Sat.)is a menagerie of 5%-boozy women/10%-pretty boys/30%-attractive guys/55%-guys trying to prove to someone that they've still got it. But the question is: who really wants it, bub? The quaint bar turns into a juggernaut with rooms, nooks and crannies you never would have thought existed...and still, it's not enough! The patronage is monstrous--a wave of overpreened, overweening and overconfident models (run-way, print, hand models, foot models, etc.) fill every square inch in hopes of finding a square inch or twelve to fill their nooks and crannies. The music is adequate and the dance floor accommodating, but I often find myself dizzy from a night of rolling my eyes at the sometimes tired musical selections, the always tired queeny-gossips, the "thirsty" patrons in need of some longer lasting AA-batteries and the long and serpentine drink lines. Before long, you're longing for the fresh air and moonlight that comes from your 3-mile trek back to wherever you lucked upon a parking space. Final analysis: great for a quick drink and a few laughs with friends; but escape before the wave of Queer-As-Folk-wannabees washes you to the back of the club and drowns you (this usually happens around 11:00pm).

Too many twinks, too crowded, waaay too much $$$ for drinks.
