I saw Joanna last night at Kingston Mines. She tore it up with awesome guitar licks coming from a screamin'Les Paul (nice to hear hot electric blues bein' played on something besides a SRV Strat).
Her vocals are pretty good but the guitar playing was really the show. Her slide playing was equal.. kind of like Walter Trout and Duane Allman mixed together. She is a great blues player... hope she gets some good gigs.. (her band was outstanding too)... hope they can book her at the NY State R&B Festival in 2006 !
