We are new in Chicago and I was craving for Cuban food. I consider Mambo Grill "pseudo Cuban" The only thing on the menu that resembled a Cuban dish was Chicken Fricasee. What a disappointment! The plantains smothered in honey & cinammon were awful. My husband had the steak which he thought was very good. The mojitos were also good. If you are looking for REAL CUBAN, skip Mambo Grill.

The service was great! Even though the place was packed, they honoured our reservation, got us in and out of there fast so that we could catch a show and both the hostess and waitress went out of their way to get us seated quickly and served well. And the food was fantastic on top of that too!

I met there March 4, 2006 with about 22 other ladies and we had a great time! My food was delicious and I loved the atmosphere and the staff. Thanks for a great time!

BEST FOOD EVER!! Service wasn't fantastic but the food made up for it. I am still dreaming about the pork.

I went to Mambo grill with my family including my eight year old son. We all loved it. First there guacaomole with the tri-color chips an dsalsa was great never had such delicious guacamole. I had the plaintain crusted halibut it was so delicious an dso soft with a delicous white cream sauce that was a little spicy. The services was great!!! The Cuban mojito was delicous but it has to be the Cuban mojito because the mambo mojito is not the same. My husband had the Aregentine steak with grilled mango and vegetables it was so juicy. We will return again for sure. The cuban wiatress was very knowlegable and very sweet to our son. Great, great place..

Personally, I love mambo grill. It has a classy, cozy atmosphere inside and great food.

I have never eaten lunch here, and maybe individuals have bad service days, but in the few times I have eaten dinner here the food and the service have been very good and the ambience nicely private and relaxed. This is a non-ostentatious place which I regard as a "banker" for those days when you cannot decide where you want to eat.

We ate at the Mambo Grill last Saturday. The food was good, but the service was awful. We had a waitress who hovered over us like a vulture trying to get all the plates off the table, way before we were done. It was really uncomfortable and we all started hunching over our plates so as not to have them snatched. Every time she came by, it made us tense. When I finally made a joke that she must have other plans, she said "Yeah, I have a concert to get to". Poor service, which put a damper on the experience. We won't be back.

I ate at Mambo Grill over the weekend and had an awesome experience! I came in with a large group of my friends and we didn't make reservations. Well the manager got us a table without a problem. The service and food were outstanding. I really have not had such a great dining experience in quite a while...Thanks so much Mambo Grill. We will be back
