Went to Lalo's about a month ago around 4 PM on a Monday and the place was almost empty—there were only two other tables eating. My friend ordered a mango daiquiri and the waiter brought him a guava flavored one. My friend politely informed the waiter that he brought the wrong flavor, which he didn’t like. The waiter asked him twice if he’d just drink it because he’s new or else it was coming out of his paycheck. He gave us a pretty big guilt trip that he’d have to pay—that’s when my friend insisted he get the flavor he ordered and neither of us felt guilty about that. The food was good, though. The service was not.

Went to Lalo's on Clybourne to celebrate the birthdays of a few girls in our group. We had drinks first, since the place was so crowded.(Immediately I thought this place must be great, there's so many people here!)Waited about 30 mins. to find seating...AT THE BAR!OK...so I order a "michelada"(beer, lime juice and a special hot sauce similar to louisiana.)So the waitress comes back and hands me this huge crystal cup containing my drink...and something extra...my cup was full of ice!!!Beer with ice???I don't think so!They're so cheap they fill up their cups w/ice instead of the drink!Definitely not the best drink I've ever had,not to mention the ridiculously high prices. Finally got seated after about an hour at the bar.The only thing I really enjoyed was the Mariachi.Which by the way, patrons have to pay for(if you choose to have them play for your party)Lalo...come on if your so darn successful...pay them to play all night for everyone!!!!I happen to be Mexican and I personally think Lalo's food is not something I would look forward to having again.Sorry Paisano!
