Okay, I have no idea what you people are talking about saying that La Pas is bad. This place has the best chicken tacos I've had in my life. I don't think anyone will ever top it. Also the black salsa is AMAZING! BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER!!!

Fat infused burritos. I have been going here for years for the steamed beef burritos and they are incredible when they aren't loaded with fat. It seems to be getting worse. In fact, one had so much fat I had to throw it away. I've tried to contact the owner but he is too hard to get hold of. If they would go back to the quaility they once had, I would visit more. I still rec. a person should try it at least once though.

A friend of mine from TX claims that you can't possible get good Mexican food north of Oklahoma - I'll give him credit for not stopping at the TX border. So when I heard that it is THE best authentic taco in town if not the entire country if you believe the rest of the reviews, I just had to go out of my way to try it for the next time my friend blew into town. I have to say that it was a big let down. The seasoned, charcoal grill steak taste sets it apart from others. However, it was ruined by the fact that it was dry, tough, and chewy and a bit on the salty side. They only gave me the green sauce so I can't comment on the other sauce. The green sauce was good but nothing amazing. It's not watered down like other restaurants with good flavor but not as much heat as they say. I'm sure that if you get it with all the fixin's, the saltiness would probably mellow out. Maybe contrary to the suggestions on getting the "authentic tacos," the taco with the cheese, tomatoes, guacamole, etc. would make it taste much better. I can almost see that it could have been real good but the quality control is no longer there as commented by "Original Cityboy."

To all you metrosexuals looking for 'avocado' and ambience....vamaros. This place is the Taj Mahal of burritos.

Want to get bloated on beans and lettuce somewhere else, be my guest. Nothing has the taste of La Pasidita burritos and it hasn't changed for 15 years

    Viva La Pasidita!!!!

This place is the jam. As authentic Mexican as you can get. There are places all over the CHI where you can get lobster and veggies steeped in rare aged cheese, and the latest yuppie favorite, truffle oil. F*ck all that, there is NO skill in getting super rich fats to taste good. Come to this hole in the wall where cow brains in tacos (los Cesos) are made delicious. I love fine dining, but hey anybody can make Kobe beef taste good. be adventurous with the palette. come here next time you want a late night snack. Screw the the old Greek dude who is gonna make you nachos, or the young Mexican dude cuttin you a gyro. WERD UP!!!

Sorry, but I must strongly disagree with all those folks that think this place has the best (steak) tacos & burritos. Found the steak meat to be tough/chewey and not particularly tasty or well-seasoned. Tacos were also very greasy, and too little 'filling' of onions and cilantro. Also, we paid the extra 50cents for gaucamole, and there was barely a quarter-teaspoon if that on any of the Tacos. And, dissappointed there was no option to add real Avocado (which is my preference). The usual free Tortilla Chips were also not very well-made or tasty, and the 3 sauces to go with only so-so. The only positive note I'd make is that it is BYOB, so you can definately eat (& drink) on the cheap. But, for my money (and tastebuds), TACALITLAN beats this place hands down. (See my review of Tacalitlan).

Saw this place on check please. The food was really greasy and pretty expensive. Four tacos and a pop was $10. There are three of them within 100 feet of each other. Place looked very unclean as well. I have eating better at late night burrito joints. NO where to PARKr either.

This place used to be the BOMB! not anymore, yes the carne azada is really good but service lately sucks! the new girls are really rude and waiting time can be up to 45 min. If anyone knows the owner he should know this.

OMG best food ever. Nothing better then going to la pasa after a night out and having a chicken buritto.
