SO RUDE
The owner and manager are so rude and disrespectful to their staff it ruins the whole experience. Also they are indifferent and dismissive with customers. Plus, the food is totally over priced. Not to mention all the staff is so new/untrained that they know NOTHING.

When I first moved to Chicago I fell in love with this place. The atmosphere is great, food is good and wine selection is definitely is huge. I am shocked to see so many negative reviews. My friends and I LOVE this place.

I was hired on-the-spot by the owner after one manager recommended hiring me. The General Manager took one look at my ID...and everything changed. You see, I am 38, but look 28. Maybe they like their staff to be young (and inexperienced) instead of having a bit of wine knowledge and maturity. I would think that patrons of the wine bar would like a server who actually KNOWS wine...
As nice as the staff is, they have much to learn about learn about what it means to provide good service.

The staff at 404/Jacks is a bit strange. The door man told me they were at capacity and when I told him I was meeting people who were already there he let me in. The place was barely half full. Think someone forgot to tell him 404/Jacks is a dumpy bar on southport not a club downtown. Food is average other service was fine but nothing special.

This plase is terrible. I went last week and let me tell you what I thought. The staff are incompetant, the food is average, the prices are high, and the atmosphere is indifferent. Frankly, none of us were impressed with the wine selection. You get the feeling there's potential in the Wine Bar or Jack's or whatever, but this place needs a change in management pronto.

I worked there for a few months and was just fired (along with 4 others on the same day) over the phone for no reason at all. The managers and the owner are incredibly rude and cold-hearted. I loved the other people I worked with and the actual bar itself, but I will NEVER go back to that bar simply because of the management.

Went last Saturday night. wanted to do appetizers and wine for dinner. We had a great pinot grigio and the cheese flight appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. The service was top notch. We will definitely go back and can't wait to try the patio.

This "wine bar" is more bar that anything. Don't expect much from this place. To start off, its not its own bar, its a room of Jack's Bar and Grill. The atmosphere is closer to that of Alumni Club or Mothers rather than Loungey Wine Bar. Their wine selection is nothing to brag about. But, the worst thing about this place is the service. The whole "get close and personal with the bartender at the bar" is a bunch of BS. Neither the staff or the owner treated us well. They were all EXTREMELY rude. I've been treated better at a McDonalds. If your looking for good wine bar, this would not be it. (Be sure to look at the reviews for Jack's Bar and Grill, since is basically the same place)
