Most of the old blues guys are passed, but not all. If you want to see the veterans of the current Chicago blues scene: Big Time Sarah, Bonnie Lee, Chico Banks, J.W. Williams, Vance Kelly, John Primer, and any more, this is their home base; if they're not working here or anywhere else , they could quite likely be here sitting in. weekends can get crowded, but if show up by 9:30 or after11:30, a seat is waiting for you. Even at it's most busy, you'll get seat for the next set, so stand for one, and sit for the rest. A couple of the beers come in large bottles that are enough to serve two, quite a great deal.

There is a few great new albums coming out the end of this month! Featuring Lena Horne, Carmen Mcrae, Nina Simone and more! Produced by Tomato Records, called 24K PURE GOLD. I just listened to their last album called "Another Great Tomato Blues Package." By far the best collection yet. Billy Holliday, Mike Bloomfield, Muddy Waters, Cotton, Louis Armstrong and more. Really recomend. Sol

Let's get real: The drinks are poured heavy, and are underpriced for the neighborhood. The service is very friendly, and if you act right, you'll be a regular before you know it. This place has been at the same address, owned by the same guy, with -great- blues music -every- night since April of 1979! They're definitely doing -something- right!

Born and raised the the "neighborhood". Now live in Florida. Returning for a visit in October. Blues will be my first choice for good Chicago music. See ya then.

our first time at B.L.U.E.S was one of the best nights of blues music we have had the pleasure to enjoy, and we go to many, many venues. The atmosphere was great, the help was great.And Willie Kent and Miss Bonnie Lee were fantastic. They blew me away. We are planning our return as I write this. Bottom line is if you want to experience the best of chicago blues, well get down to the B.L.U.E.S
