I knew Lillian Budd quite well until she died in the 1980's in Santa Barbara, CA. She actually had never been to Sweden until after she wrote her first book, April Snow.
Lillian was an incredible woman and lived with great vigor right up to the end when she was 90 years old. She never lost her terrific energy, was the most principled person I have ever met and when she died the world became less bright.
