Mr Blei spoke at my JSMorton HS 40th reunion 15 years ago. I am now re-reading "Nighborhood" and still am amazed how little I knew of the unique nighborhood I grew up in. I lived at Cermak and Oak Park Avenue from 1940 to 1952. This is a wonderful word picture of the area that I grew to love. Highly recommended by me.
