When I'm in Chicago, I make a point to patronize Foodlife. Partly it's for the remarkable variety of dishes, and the fact that you can compile your own plateful of flavors from around the world, and partly it's because of the unusual purpose of the food court, which was to devise a way to put unhirable kids from the Cabrini-Green housing project and other rough neighborhoods to work. The reason for the unusual card-swiping system is so that they can hire kids that no one would let handle money. I don't defend snippy service, but in the context of a heroic effort to invent a new way to introduce kids to mainstream work who would otherwise be gangbangers and drug dealers, Foodlife staffers deserve a tiny bit of patience, in my humble opinion.

I had a wonderful time, As far as the service goes I thought it was fine considering how many people were there.
It was packed , obviously people in chicago do like it there and I had a great meal.
People need to stop worrieing about the bad service they had, I maen this place is an awesome place to go to if you and your signifante other or family caint agree on a place to eat. Here you have it all. I think it is a place people need to check out. I will recomend it to all my friends.

Do NOT Waste your time in this overpriced food court. First off, the service is rude, RUDE, RUDE!!!! The first time I walked up to one of the food kiosk--not knowing the process of taking a ticket and etc.--I was rudely chastised publicly by the server and she had the gall to egg on other customers in line to ridicule me as well. I'm sorry but I have a master's degree in mathematics and I DO have some knowledge. And for some server to chastise me in a place where I'll be spending my money was totally, TOTALLY uncalled for.
In fact the lunch time servers are downright snippy! The food is passable but overpriced. But I called the management who was patronizingly "apologetic" in an off-handed way.
But I have never EVER gone back and informed all my associates and organizations I belong how this over-hyped food court treats its customers and NOT patronize this establishment if you are spending all this money only to be treated rudely!!
