Admittedly, I had fun at Excalibur, but I say this optimistically. My good time was had "by mistake" as it was an adventure no doubt. My whole time was spent wandering with a friend thru a three-dimensional maze! The place consists of 3+ stories, a basement/sub-basement, and countless balconies and mezzanines throughout. The architecture was weird and surreal (the exterior is a castle with gargoyles), making the experience all the more interesting. And after countless drinks navigation was a huge challenge. In sum, if I rated the club on its merits, it gets a failing grade, but I made the best of it! If your idea of a fun night is walking drunk through a 3D maze, then Excalibur is the perfect place for you! And there are plenty of bars and iceboxes of beer all over to serve your needs. Problem is the racism! I do not wish to speak ill of the eccentric but reputably kindly Mohawk-wearing owner, but Excalibur is a racist club. I say this because most of the clientele waiting at the door is of Asian descent but I saw almost no Orientals throughout the club except for a small crowded sub-basement room I call the Dungeon in which nearly everyone was Azn. Everywhere else there was a diverse mix of Blacks, Whites, and others but no Azns. My Korean friend and I originally went to find a party, but we were lost in the maze the whole time until we found them in the Dungeon. It is unfortunate that in 2007 a certain minority group must be confined to one room with tiny, dirty bathrooms.

Yo, i went to this place on one of the first friday nites and let me tell you:It was off the hook! First of all, they have drink specials on first fridays, and secondly, the ladies there are smoking! Also, this place is huge.. Seriously when i FINALLY made it to the main dancefloor every girl there was trying to dance with somebody..the music is hot too..everything from latin to hip hop..seriously i know good clubs when i go to one, but this one is great.

hey...i just wanted to ask if there was a night @ Excalibue when 17 yr olds were able to enter the club. I heard that a few friends were able to go on a particular night for a younger crowd. also, my friends and i are looking for a fun club that we (17 yr olds) can get into. the closer to the chicago area the better! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

I am from St. Louis, and went to Chicago this past weekend. I thought that Excalibur was over the top. You just would not find a club of this magnitude here in the Lou. I would recommend it to anyone. Club X is the bomb...there are so many different rooms to go to. Me and my boyfriend started off in the basement playing pool, as we made our way up to the top of the place, we never did find our way back...I can't wait to go back someday...it was the SHE I ITTT!!!!!!!

i only go to excalibur on first fridays. every time i go, there is always the finest latinos from all around the chicagoland area. i heard it is not worth going any other day of the week, except first fridays. drinks and parking a little expensive, but the people and atmosphere is always cool. dj can sometimes play the same song over and over, but overall i always have a good time and i always meet a cutie each time i go. you need to check out first friday at least once.

Excellent. Went on a Thursday nite, the Salsa on the second floor had a lot of energy, but the real topper was Bandolay, in some kind of side room off the first floor. They were an incredible band. check em out.

Went to the club two weeks ago on a SAturday night, It was a great club with great music, however the one bartender with blonde hair on the first floor was very rude, everyone one else was great,. Had a good time, will probably not go back however unless they do get rid of that bartender.
