I walked by Durkin's this evening (10/28/2009) and -- randomly -- it's totally plastered inside and out with brand new Illinois signs and flags. Still a Steeler's flag flying outside, but sorry, Purdue fans, it looks like you just weren't cutting it.
On the other hand, maybe the bar's owners are just trying to get their kids clouted admission to The U for next fall. Either way, they sure know how to pick a winner.

Durkins SUCKS!!! They advertize a 6-10 $15 drink-up- they wouldn't let us in after 6:50 as they said they had sold out of drink-up tickets. Even my friends who were in there before me said it sucked- STAY AWAY- there's lots of better places to drink around there, or in Lincoln Park area!!!! LOTS of places!!

I love Durkins!!!!! It's Chicago's Purdue Bar! The people are always fun, drinks are great, bartenders quick and reliable, and the atmosphere is like a Big Ten Bar!!!! I am sure you'll love it!

The food is ok, not great. It can get really smokey and it's not all that big, especially cramped in the front. If you like the Steelers, then you definitely want to patron this bar.
