I am not biased, and I love to eat. My favorite place for breakfast in Chicago is the Palace Grill at 1406 W. Madison, and my favorite place for lunch is Coq d'Or in the Drake, but for dinner its a toss up between Kiki's on Franklin, Les Nomades on Ontario and the new Tratoria al Teatro at 18th and Allport (just west of Racine). The food is great, the wine list substantial and reasonable, and the best gelatto this side of Via Elizabetta on the Lido in Venice. My wife and I just returned from Sicily and none of the restaurants there could beat this fine dining place with the best ambiance in Chicago. Whether chicken, vitello (veal) pasta or beef, its all fabulous.

I wouldn't call this "dust settling"...

more like exploding in Geraci's raw-sausage-serving face...

the best chicken on Ristorante al teatro's menu is what's coming home to roost!

Now that Geraci's building inspector co-conspirator has been nabbed by the feds (google "jose hernandez")

when will they come for the Baron of Bankfraud, the Count of Ripping Off Employees, the Maestro of Asbestos Exposure for Daylaborers, Captain Sicily Stealingstuff...Mister Dominick Geraci?

What will happen to the raw sausages they serve here? The crappy attitude from the guido at the door? The stale bread and incapable staff?

    Tell us!

Not only is the information in LaXioXi's review false (sounds to me like sour grapes at best...maybe slander at worst?), it isn't a review of the restaurant. And in my opinion, someone needs to talk about how fabulous this place is!

We were invited to meet some friends there a few nights ago and I honestly can't wait to go back. The food was amazing and the space is so beautiful.

The apps were delicious...we tried the shrimp as well as the eggplant and I would recommend both. Although there was a lot to choose from on the menu, and it all sounded amazing, we had pizza and calzone cooked in a woodburning oven and I swear I was in Italy again! I don't know if it was the rich buffalo mozzarella, or all of the flavors combined, but I was in heaven. And I would definitely suggest saving a little room for dessert because the gelato is also authentic, and truly perfect.

I met the owner that night (he was welcoming everyone and visiting each table), and he seems warm and kind. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We've been telling our friends about this place, and we are planning to bring my parents here soon!

This is at Thalia Hall, where the Dominick Geraci guy is in court for federal racketeering (RICO) from the things that happened.

The case is partially online. I am so curious, I am going to try to find if it in court yet so I can watch. ALOT of Pilsen people will be happy to see this Geraci face the music. NOT becuase we hate all development, he is just a negative person against any latinos and was stealing.

It looks like other people are on the case too, but I don't know who they are. Macaluso looks like an accountant for Cook County. Maybe the County and property taxes? Does anyone know?
