The ribs were burned, the chicken and cornbread were dry, and the brisket was ordinary. This was one of the most disappointing dinners, my family has had in a long time.

This place is a real treat. It is exactly what the libertyville area is looking for.... great BBQ. It really fills a void in the morket here. I too experienced some of the opening kinks when I went (I.E. all out of meats, soda machine, heat), but the guys working were so nice and apologetic that they gave me free desert and cornbread. Can't go wrong with that. Since I have been back, those kinks seem to have been worked out, so unfortunately no more free food ;( Oh well. Be sure to try their brisket; it melts in your mouth and tastes superb.

My husband and I really enjoyed our meal this evening! I had a great brisket sandwich and my husband had the pulled pork platter. The quality of the meat and pork was clearly excellent. Both entrees were lean, juicy, and flavored just perfectly. The sauces are in your control, so you can choose your own flavors, combine them and control the amount you use. The sides we tried were the mac and cheese, the corn bread, and the baked beans. Each one was uniquely prepared and very tasty. If your looking for a clean and casual place to dine with quality barbeque taste, be sure to try this restaurant.

Let's start with full disclosure up front, we live next door to Eddie's in-laws. Went down to Libertyville Friday after work for our first visit of many to Main Street Smokehouse. This visit the four of us tried the Smoked Texas Style Brisket - it was some of the best ever. The Carolina pulled pork was the best with the maple chipotle sauce. We have tried BBQ Pork nachos before, nothing compares with these, fresh tortilla chips give it that little extra. We are definitely going back in the future & will try the ribs next - they looked great

The only thing missing was a beer & that's coming soon too.

I loved it! It was a nice change from the usual places to eat in Lake County. I think the portion sizes are just right. I think there are still some finishing to do with the place itself...soda machine etc, but would definitely recommend eating here. I

To the reviewer who posted before me-I went on the same day and the air was working, if you sat by the kitchen it was hot from all the ovens going off. The portions aren't small at all. Their chicken entree is half of a whole chicken, so if that's not enough for you, Marsha, you must be a fatty.

They smoke everything themselves, its kind of a play on Smoque in the city but it's own version. Ribs aren't fall off the bone, they're smoked for I think like fourteen hours so they have tons of flavor. Their brisket, pork, and chicken is so soft and flavorful. I really like how all the meat comes dry. The restaurant has a bunch of homemade different sauces that are amazing and really compliment the different types of meats. I definitely recommend coming here. They're closed on Sundays but otherwise open Mon-Thursday 11AM-8PM, then Friday and Saturday 11AM-9PM. I went their first week of opening and they ran out of some foods but it is understandable because the food they serve isn't just something you can make right away then serve, their smoking process takes over night, more then 14 hours. This is damn good barbeque and I really push everyone to go in and try it out.

Very disappointing. Air conditioning was not working. Pop and ice machine were not working. Portions were very small, and chicken was too overcooked. Probably will not return.
