Went to see White Buffalo is Born August 29th. This new, fresh band is great. Amazing original tunes.....I see great things for this Chicago-based band! Bring 'em back!!

Went to see the Little Stevens Undergroung garage show Oct. 11. great show with an awesome performance by the Shadows of Knight. It was like being at the Cellar in arlington Heights in 1966! The go go dancers were a nice touch! Rock on Jimy..G-L-0-R-I-A.

I went to see JaGoFF and P-Funk's Bernie Worrell last week and had a blast! New school funk meets old school funk!! AWESOME - nice to see something other than the same old thing for once. It looks like the Double Door hasn't been cleaned in about 20 years but I love that about it considering how anesthetized Wicker Park has become. (Now they just need to take the quantum leap from mono to stereo & get some real bathrooms) Anyway, congrats to the Double Door for stepping up to the plate with a great billing - we need more of this type of thing in Chicago!

Great Venue to see great music, from artists you've heard of to local bands that you want to know more about. One of my favorite local bands, Suitcase 72, has just finished some studio time, and hopefully they'll be playing places like this in the near future.

Seen some great shows here. Mostly standing room, but there are stools along the wall for those of us who are too old to stand up for an entire show. So, if you get there early enough, you can get a seat close to the stage and actually be able to see.
One of the neat features is that the stage is upstairs, while the dressing room is downstairs on the other side of the room. So, when a band leaves the stage, they walk down stairs and across the pool room, past the bar. Not many bands coming off stage are going to be able to walk right past a bar! So I've been able to meet performers I admire and have a drink with them, like the late, great Kirsty MacColl.
Haven't been there in a few years, so they may have changed the layout.
