As decent a record as Gotcha was, Bill's other record was even better. Look for it in the Delmark catalog (with specter and ronnie earl). Bill was an awesome singer, and it's too bad there isn't more record of his voice. His last recording -- live at the slippery noodle -- was captured on video. I was playing with him at the time, as was a great sax player, Rhonda Leis. But the tape disappeared with his death. If anyone knows about it, contact me at mbourne@fcb.com. Thanks!

I picked up Barkin’ Bill’s Gotcha from a used record store and immediately felt ashamed because I hadn’t purchased it when it was fresh of the press in 94. Wow, this is by far simply the best blues I have yet to hear. His vocals uniquely accompany the full and classy arrangements as put forth by his larger than life band. On a scale of 1 to 10, I emphatically give it a 20. Thank you Barkin’ Bill.
