Otherwise decent experience completely ruined by RUDE staff. A friend and I had finished our meal, waited quite awhile for our take-out dessert, and were talking at our "teeny-table-for-two." We paid our bill, and within less than five minutes the maitre-D was "hovering," plopping menus down on the other small adjacent table (that he apparently wanted to combine with ours), and asking us pointedly if we needed anything else. A few minutes later, after pacing repeatedly past our table, he said "Ladies, I don't mean to be rude, but I really need this table." There were FOUR people waiting, not a line out to the street! AND...there were other tables available in the restaurant. We told him that he WAS rude, and that we would not be back. Unfortunate, because up to that point, the experience had been good.

I have a new found love for Dixie Kitchen. They've added fries to their menu and now have lunch specials for $4.95. Those specials include 1/2 a po boy and either a cup of gumbo or jambalaya, a catfish filet, one side and a corn muffin, chicken, one side, and a corn muffin, Chicken Caesar Salad, Blackened or Grilled Chicken Sandwich and fries, and my ultimate favorite, the Southwestern Salad. this salad is t he best! It has mixed greens, a grilled chicken breast, corn, black beans, a few diced onions, and tortilla strips. But the best part of the salad is the Southwestern Caesar dressing! This place is the best!

The food here is great. It has that New Orleans feel. Lately the waitstaff has changed to include people that are from the south and their accent fits right into the ambience of this place. My husband I like it so much that we eat there at least 2-3 times a month. The johnny cakes are to die for, the gumbo is greeeeeeeeeeeeeeat! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, the price is also right.

Took my extended family there for our official "Family Brunch" before Christmas 2002. It was fabulous food! Very funky environment but oh the food! Our party spanned 7 years to 67...Kids loved the menu as much as the adults. Since I was paying the tab, I also loved the prices after having done the brunch thing in previous years at the Orington Hotel and Marriott's Lincolnshire Resort (both $$$$)
