Let's be honest, Irish cuisine isn't all that impressive. However, Wilde has me somewhat shocked. Some of the entrees aren't worth throwing a party over, but on the flip side, some are. But isn't that the story with most restaurants? Anyway, Wilde's atmosphere is warm, the service has been consistently good, and there are beautiful flat screens all over the restaurant that made watching the 2008 election AMAZING.

I love the place!...they have the BEST version of Sticky Toffee Pudding that I have ever had!!! As someone already said, the mac 'n cheese is fabulous and is a meal in itself. I think our waitress was from Roumania or somewhere like that and she was so nice and helpful. I always try to go there when I am in Lincoln Park.

A dozen of my friends and I went here to celebrate my 30th birthday. Everyone's food was excellent; nice atmosphere; prompt service; they even brought me a piece of birthday cake. We were all content...until the bill came back to us. Despite them having no problem processing our bill on multiple cards, they somehow managed to LOSE ONE OF OUR DEBIT CARDS!!! Yes, in the FIFTEEN feet between our table and the cash register, our server managed to LOSE A DEBIT CARD. Upon noticing the card wasn't in the book (but the receipt certainly was), we informed our server of the situation. After a brief THIRTY second search - the staff's solution was to ask for my friend's name and number - they would call him when they found it. WTF?!? The manager offered no help, barely muttering "sorry." They didn't even offer to comp the amount processed on that card - nada, zip, zilch.

I wish I could recommend this place...but the huge inconvenience they caused my friend, coupled with their brazen lack of concern and inability to offer ANY sort of reconciliation – well, let’s just say I won’t be rushing back their anytime soon. Or recommending it to anyone.

They did call my friend about 2 hours later – they found the card under a table. By that time of course, my friend had (naturally) called his bank and cancelled the card/account. Thanks for nothing Wilde.

I wanted to try this place after hearing of it's opening. The reviews online sounded good and I am a big fan of Wilde's work. However, I was BLOWN AWAY by how great it was. The atmosphere is so warm and elegant. Perfect for a date or a night out with friends. The help was so friendly - i wanted to stay just to hang out with them! Then the FOOD- aahhhhh, hands down the BEST FOOD I have had in a Chicago bar. I ordered the homemade Mac and Cheese. It was so good, I don't know if I'll ever enjoy this favorite anywhere else! My date had the grilled shrimp. It was also stunningly delicious, and I ended up trying to steal 1/2 of his plate, while he was sneaking bites on mine. I have never written an online review before, but after the wonderful time I had here, I just had to share. Do yourself a favor and enjoy!

Definatly the best new Irish bar in CHicago. I have eaten at Wilde a number of times and the food is great. I would reccommend the chicken pot pie and the Chicken Curry. The decor is very classy and there is a real at home Irish feel to the bar. 10 out of 10.

There service at this place is nonexistent, and the noise too loud. My wife and I went there on a Saturday night around 9:30 for a late dinner and couldn't get served. When we walked in, there was no one at the host stand and the guy working the door told us to wait. After awhile, he was finally going to seat us himself, and a hostess magically appeared. She seated us at a table and walked away. That was our last interaction with the staff until a bus boy tried to bring us someone else's order. I guess the menus on the table weren't a clue we hadn't ordered yet. After a little while of not even getting a glass of water, we walked out. The time we were there was long enough to be reasonable, but short enough that an attentive hostess or doorman should have asked if everything was all right. But attentive staff aren't on the menu at Wilde.

I have eaten here three times and have found the experience great. I have had their fish & chips (spectacular), a hamburger properly prepared with the additions as ordered. and, today, had the wonderful macoroni & cheese (with bacon, of course). The service was excellent and the decor was wonderful. A good size crowd each time. The portions are quite generous for my taste. My only objection would be the ambient noise, but for a bar/restaurant I guess to be expected. I'll be back!
