Dear Spybar owners and all Chicago club owners: please stop with the "fashion shows." Neon jersey dresses and ripped up jeans are not fashion shows and no one over the age of 25 or under 5'10" is a model. Its just embarrassing when you have people from NYC in town. This isn't Jersey Shore its Chicago.

Went here last Wednesday and it was cool. The DJ was killing me for awhile playing techno music. (that music makes me angry and confused) before I was gonna leave he used better judgement and swtiched it up. The bartenders were good. I would recommend this place for Wednesday.

Spy Bar sucks, don't waste your money... go to Vision instead to hear good trance/techno/house

My wife and I thought to attend Spybar's Saturday event on August, 26, which was advertised as "Sex party at Spybar" (http://www.spybarchicago.com/). At the door we were charged $40 (the charge is $20 per person). Right after entering the place we realized instantly it was not what we had expected, and we decided to leave right away. As we spent less than a minute inside the bar, we thought it would be reasonable to expect a refund, but the manager Lawrence Lau adamantly refused, although "no refund" policy was never mentioned as we entered. The place was very different from the advertisement: the dress code was not maintained (many people were wearing jeans), it was filled with smoke and ultra-loud music. We felt totally cheated.
