great tasting tapas, but bite-sized portions and excessive hotel-restaurant prices. rice dishes were great and would loved to have had more than two spoonfuls. had some great short ribs and seafood dishes, great mushrooms. good place for conversation since it takes a while for the tapas to come out, and your mouth isn't ever full. a $50 meal (per person) left everyone still feeling hungry and we ended up at a fast-food joint afterward.

Had dinner there last night. Had 8pm reservations and they were running about 15 minutes behind. That was perfectly fine as we were offered a complimentary cocktail and appetizer. Very nice touch. The food was very good, however the prtions were on the small side. The high point of evening was the attentive and knowledgable waitress. She was aces. I would give the food a B+, ambiance A+, serviceA+++++++Mercat will be a hit.

We were there at the first night that they opened up. The atmosphere is electric and the service was very good and attentive. The food was good too and the small portion sizes are the norm here! The most disappointing part of this restaurant is the prices! We left this restaurant hungry because we didn't want to spend >$100 on tapas dishes. We stopped at $70 and that was for 3 tapas dishes and two wine tastings for me and my husband. We would have to spend another $70 to feel full. We will not be back.
