I saw Erin McDougald with her dynamo 5 pc group Saturday night. Her voice is gorgeous! So is the rest of her. No shortage on beauty or talent, it's super-baaad the way she makes everything she sings sound fresh, unique. Her band was right there with her on everything &they all interacted like a well-oiled machine. She was sexy &funny when she spoke to the crowd and the songs had big variety in tempos so it didn't get monotonous. I stayed all night and still wasn't ready to go when her last song finished. Go here! Really fun club with a really cool band.

I went to Andy's to see the beautiful and talented Erin McDougald for her birthday weekend performance not that long ago. The place was standing room only by 6pm and she 'ruled with one waive of her hand" as the song goes. Her voice, her songs, her band and her winning presence made the night something I will not soon forget. I wanna go back to get her cD's b/c she sold OUT before her second set! Andy's is a landmark and Erin is the light inside it. She'll be back in April it looks like.

Visited Andy's 10/29/05 from Califonia hoping to sample the jazz Chicago is said to be famous for. Andy's was a big disappointment. The group was very good, but I was unable to enjoy it because of the loud conversations going on during the performance. The noise was so loud that a complaint was made to the two employees without receiving any satisfactory solution. In fact, one person suggested we go to the Jazz Showcase for serious jazz sampling. We were there the night before for Kenny Barron. Andy's was very disappointing. Won't go again.
