Just gross.
Tried this place for the first time, and ordered 3 dishes, each of which were, in their own special way, truly awful. -Hummus Plate: very stale pita bread, old-to-the-point-of-browning vegetables, bland hummus, and oh yeah -- more than a few hairs here and there. Had to send it back. Nice. -Port Pear Salad: simply gross. The menu described it as coming with an orange balsamic vinagrette and bleu cheese crumbles. Instead, there was a creamy and bland ranch-type dressing smothered on the entire dish. And no bleu cheese either. Had to send this one back too. -Bean Burger: I don't even know what this was. The best way I can describe it is two razor-thin potato pancake-like patties on top of one another, which they somehow dub a "burger". The fries looked like they were scooped out of the garbage. They were mashed, crumbled, and many were burnt, and the aioli dipping sauce was truly beyond any reasonable scope of human consumption.
To top it all off, the food took ridiculously long to come out, even though it was early evening and there were very few customers there at the time. And oh yeah, it's not cheap!
I would give this place 0 stars if it would let me. I'm not that picky when it comes to food, and I almost never send food back. But this place really takes the cake... Seriously, never come here to eat

No good drink specials. Way too expensive for what it is. It's tiring to see bars try to be something theyre not. Head due south to the green mill where you can get a decent cocktail for $5 and fantastic live music. Skip the plasma screen tv's, poseur greaser haircuts and the bad service.

I was there on January 19th , the valet parking was a steel at $8 considering it was -8 degrees that night, we had a large party of twelve or so meeting there, we where led to a reserved section in the back, the décor was kind of sudo 6o’s art deco, but looked kewl, wraparound bench seating with medium size drink tables, flat screen TV’s on the walls with different sports going on, a disk jockey spinning a very diverse mix of music (All Good), wood floors, candles on the tables, it was nice. We had a waitress for the night and she did a fantastic job serving our party, the food was great, and the martini’s where killer, and to top it all off they served good German beer, among other types. All in all it was a good place to have a party of friends meet for drinks and just hang out, fun was had by all. I would recommend it highly.

What a waste! We have been to Fat Cat 3 times. The service is the WORST SERVICE we have ever had. The first time we were went to Fat Cat, we just had drinks. That is the only reason I will go back. The food is nasty! ( I can use more educated words, but NASTY is the best word to describe the food.) The second time we ate at Fat Cat, we had the Fish fry... where's the fish??? The entire plate was just soggy batter and stale french fries. We took my parents to eat at here yesterday and AGAIN... terrible service. It was dead in the bar, yet it still took over 10 min. for a server to take our drink order. My mom had the Crab Salad, I had the pulled chicken sammy, and my husband had the cuban. ( My dad had the cobb salad, it looked good, but its just a salad.) Everyone in my family was sick all night long. We all know this is what Uptown needs, a place to hang out; without going to Andersonville or Wrigleyville... BUT if FAT CAT CAN'T GET IT TOGETHER... we will NEVER hang out there again!

What a fabulous place if you can look past the WORST SERVICE THE CITY HAS TO OFFER. I have been to my new neighborhood bar three times and loved the food and libations, but you almost have to fight to get served. My grandma could make a drink faster. There seems to be ample staff running around, but I’m not sure that any of them have had a wait staff or bartending job before. I’m one of those types that can look past bad service if the food is amazing. So, if you have the patients of a Saint go try the Thanksgiving Sandwich and the Gatsby as a beverage. You won’t regret the food, I promise!

Hands down--the best new edition to the up and coming Uptown. This spot features a modest, yet tasty menu, an impressive imported beer selection, and a down to earth crowd. A great place to grab a bite and/or a brew just away steps from a chill evening at the Green Mill. A fat night begins at the Cat!

A blessing on Broadway. This is what Uptown needed. My partner and I went here on Saturday night and had a great meal and time. This was their grand Opening weekend and we did not experience the problems most restaurants encounter when they first open. Service was fast, not rushed on target.
The Restaurant - Big, yet cozy and comfortable with a huge wrap around bar, pool table in the back Very nicely decorated.
The Food - Comfort food at its best and reasonaly priced. I recommend the fried mac and cheese with chorizo for an appetizer. Burgers are good, excellent potato salad, the Thanksgiving sandwich was fantastic.
The Bar - Nice selection of beers (they even have Schlitz for old school types like me), although I opted to have a Pomegranite Martini, you can't beat them at $7.00.
Clientele - Young and Older, Gay and Straight, as diverse as Uptown.
