Like other people have said, it doesn't know if it's a bar or a restaurant. The waitresses are rude and incompetent, and the host just tries to hard. The beer selection is awesome and the food is actually pretty good, they just need to train their staff in customer service and decide what their niche is. It's also WAY too brightly lit.

continued.. We finally gave up and called it a day toward the end of the game (not because of the game, this just gives you some reference). My girlfriend's burger was not what she ordered (no grilled onions means a heaping helping of grilled onions).

If you have 3 hours to kill, you can find some good beverages here. Burgers are tasty, etc. If you can meditate to a zen-like state to deal with the wait time, you may have some fun. Otherwise, avoid the Ale House.

A few weeks ago some friends came in from out of town, and were sold when they saw how much beer was available on tap. Having tried but failed to dissuade them, we went back to the Ale House. We arrived before the beginning of the Bears game, were seated right away, and had our drink order taken after about 15 minutes. After 25 minutes, we hadn't gotten our drinks yet. The place was not very full, and yet... So, drinks finally arrive (mostly), and we place our food orders. We finally started eating toward the end of the third quarter, when the entrees and appetizers both arrived to the tables.

continued Another 45 minutes or so go by before we get our food. A sensible person would have left by now, but not us. We toughed it out to support what would surely become our new local hangout... Well, my burger was pretty good, and the wings weren't bad, but my lady's Caprese Salad was basically inedible. After waiting for our check for another half hour, we were finally able to leave.

I really want to like the Chicago Ale House. Really. It's stumbling distance from the house, has a nice, familiar feel to it (I hear it's owned by the same folks that run Cy's Crab House on Ashland, and I love that place). When the Ale House opened, I was pretty excited. We gave them a week to get into the swing of things, and then stopped in. We saw 4 open tables toward the back when we walked by, so we figured we'd be seated quickly. After 45 minutes, we were seated at one of the open tables in the back. 10 minutes later, we got menus, and ordered drinks (ale, of course). Our drinks arrived 30 minutes later ("sorry, the bar's really busy"), and we placed our orders.

The jury is still out on this one. Ecclectic menu with okay service. Seems that it may be too new and that the staff are not seasoned with customer service. They are trying and I will continue to go here, live in the neighborhood. A nice addition to the area....will post more as time goes by. The nachos are great!!!!

The food at the bar came out luke warm, they have to adress this problem soon. Soups and other food should not be served this way.
