I have to echo the concerns about the service at Anteprima. About a month ago, we went in for an early dinner (with a reservation) and the waiter acted like it was a cheesy diner instead of a relatively upscale restaurant.
They brought the food at light speed, trying to take away appetizers that we had barely started eating. The waiter slammed the wine. We were in and out in under an hour - we didn't bother protesting because it would have done no goo. That waiter wanted a bigger table and that was the end of it.
I have to wonder if part of the problem is that particular waiter. They might just have a weenie on staff.

What a total disappointment! We waited a few months after this placed opened to try it out - we finally went at 9:30 on a Friday, after the dinner rush was over. We made it clear from the start we weren't in a hurry. So our first course came 5 minutes after ordering, while we were still drinking an aperitif. Our second course came 8 minutes later while we were still eating the first course. And the expediter simply removed my friend's salad from the table without asking, ALTHOUGH HE WAS STILL EATING IT! It was put back after a clear objection, while our entrees were left on the now very-crowded table to get cold.
My rabbit special was stringy and tough, my friend's ravioli was swimming in butter, with no visual appeal whatsoever beyond the 4 asparagus tips that also floated around. We won't be wasting any money here again.

We had read some initial positive reviews of Anteprima, a new Italian restaurant in Andersonville. We decided to give it a try and glad we did. We arrived early, about 5:45pm, and were greeted by both co-owners. A friendly conversation continued at our table, adding to the already comfortable ambience. Anteprima offers a full bar and an excellent and reasonably priced Italian wine list. The appetizers and entrees were fantastic--deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. The service was excellent and not pretentious. Our waiter explained the special offerings for the evening and was appropriately attentive throughout the dinner. All in all, we enjoyed a splendid dinner and delightful evening. We will certainly go back.

Strolling through Andersonville late in the afternoon, my wife and I had the opportunity to get a sneak preview of this rustic Italian charmer a week before its opening. We stumbled in to see a menu and were warmly invited to experience the cuisine since the waitstaff needed a trial run. The servie was terrific. The food was delicious regional country fare. We had a great plate of antipasta while we waited for our entrees.Unfortunately, they were not yet serving wine, but the list appeared to be full of great regional selections. Our waiter informed us that all the breads, desserts and most of the pastas are made fresh daily on the premises. Yes. You can taste the difference. I tried the orcheitte with home-made lamb sausage. The sausage tossed with rapini, garlic and chilis was delicious. I felt transported to a pastorial kitchen in a Tuscan village. For our main course my wife had duck and I had bass cooked, as they do in Italy, whole. The owner, who genuinly seems to care about the customers, came to our table to introduce himself and filet the fish for me. The bass literally melted in my mouth. And my wife thoughourly enjoyed the duck carefully finished with balsamic and served with a creamy polenta. Save room for dessert. The blood orange cake and panna cotta is divine. We look forward to returning to Anteprima. It's sure to become a neighborhood favorite.Oh, and I think that it's in the 5000 block of Clark. Better call for directions.
