If the owners of August reads this they'll know who wrote the review. Have you tried the Skate fish? I'd never had it until August came to town and now it is my favorite. The owner occasionally makes his own sausages--delicious. Anyone who could get me to taste squid--that's how much I like their food.

Six of us did a fish prepartion class (you can do whatever class you want) with George and all agreed it was a phenomenal experience. George provided us with a 5 course meal which included 5 different types of fish--sea bass, black cod, tuna, skate and monkfish. After years of living in Chicago and frequenting many restaurants this is one of the best meals I have ever had. George prides himself on providing a true educational experience while keeping a fun informal environment. I would highly recommend this to anyone...for a work event, if you have famiy in town..or just a evening out with friends. It is affordable, BYOB and a guarenteed great meal.

I hope everybody catches on to how great this place is. Their scallops are beautiful, and I always end up getting turned on to something new here. Definitely beats heading up to the overcrowded Whole Foods, and it's much more affordable. Good neighborhood vibe here too. The owners know what they're doing and seem to enjoy it.

Personally, if I could only shop in one place in Chicago it would be Autumn. Elements of perfection without the aire of pretention resonate. George is my hero. Peace, love and nice food.

Incredibly fresh seafood, carefully chosen staple ingredients, and reasonable prices have made August one of my favorite places to shop. George and Angie couldn't be sweeter or more helpful, and they have been more than willing to offer suggestions or make menu recommendations. Their passion for cooking and quality ingredients actually makes it fun to shop for groceries! I'm anxious for warmer weather when their back patio will become available. So long, Dominick's!

August is a Wicker Park gem. The meats, seafood and produce are always fresh and of superb quality. Prices are also very reasonable. We shop there at least 3-4 times a week and often order the carry-out lunches and dinners, which are absolutely delicious! George and Angie couldn't be more sweet and helpful - August is a great addition to the neighborhood.

I did my weekly grocery shopping here last week, and I ate healthier and fresher than I have in recent memory. The scallops and shrimp were as fresh as I've seen them anywhere, and they didn't break the bank either. My total bill was comparable to what it is when I shop at Jewel, but the experience was minus the mayhem, and the food was higher quality.

This place is awesome. I got the rib-eye to-go meal and it was so excellent. Looks like they also have really fresh fish, etc.
