Very disappointed. Got an email with the details of their Halloween activities and made reservations. Arrived about 15 early and waited at the bar for a table which turned out was in the bar not where the activities were taking place (upstairs and in the dining room). Other were seated after us and brought bread we got nothing. When a server arrived he told us the kitchen was closed for a bit because it was so backed up and we overheard him tell others it would be about 30 minutes before it opened. He also informed us that the advertised menu, a 4 course dinner for $16.95, was no longer available and no substituions were being offered. We could order off the regular menu at a significantly higher price. I feel this was false advertising and when I asked the hostess was told they were busy and had been all day. Why let the walk-ins without reservations have the deal and at least not offer something in its place. Hving a reservation meant nothing. Long drive for us and as past patrons don't intend to visit this place again. Beware of advertised specials

I love this place! I attended a 60th birthday party during Sunday brunch and the food was fantastic-the desserts delectable, our server was fabulous, attentive, funny. Didn't catch her name but request the blonde~
Will keep coming back for more that's for sure!

TERRIBLE!!!!!! i tried throwing a party here. the staff is awful to deal with. they are very unorganized with their "package deals", and everyone employed there tells you something different! get it together!!!!!

This place is awful!!! Great looking, however the service is so bad it is ridiculous! We attended a party, and the staff, including management was unprofessional and rude. This place tries to give off the impression of a classy pub, however employees and management lack any kind of couth.

Got to agree with Sean. Although, it is a pleasant looking place. Went there on Saturday night. Place was mostly empty, except at the bar. Could not get a bartender to take a drink order. Sat at a table, saw waitresses going by, tried to flag one down, no luck. left after 15 minutes. Went to the Abbey down the street and had a beer in hand within 1 minute of entering. Rachel, perhaps you are a cute girl. One of the bartenders spent a lot of time chatting one up instead of serving drinks.

whoa, sean, laddie my boy. too bad you had a nasty experience. but i've had nothing but good times at chief o'neill's.
excellent guinness. a dublin native once told me that it's the best pour in the our fair city.
i'm a big fan of the mussels. or try the chips with gravy/curry (take your pick).
when the weather is nice, the space out back is an ideal plan for idle talking, people watching, children playing.
when the weather is crappy, musicians serve up pretty great reels and jigs several nights a week.
convenient for logan square and albany park folks. a nice place to have dinner before a show at the abbey or a drink afterwards.
pfft. if you don't like it, maybe you should stick to your pre-fab faux pubs like fado.
the music on
