If you're gay, old, and fat, Sofo's the place for you. That's not a judgmental comment-- that's the type of person that hangs out there. I used to go at the insistence of a friend who fits the profile, but I eventually put my foot down. For a neighborhood bar, the drink prices are ridiculous ($7 for vodka tonic (not even premium vodka)) and the music is way too loud. Add very long bathroom lines and shrieking straight girls on weekends and the experience becomes downright painful.

This is truly a great place to visit. I recommend you out-of-towners consider coming on Tuesdays for happy hour, 6-10pm and Fridays after 8pm are perhaps the best night of the week. The thing about Sofo, and all the bars in Andersonville for that matter, is that it's such a friendly bar. You'll come back with your friends.
