This world music polyrhythmic funk ensemble - one of Chicago's best treasures and one of the best dance bands on the planet - recently released their second album, Harmony, a work that halted their usually ambitious performance schedule in order to "get it right."

Frontman Winston Damon can play anything. Describing Damon, the Chicago Reader says "...the kind of person that has perfect rhythm the way other musicians have perfect pitch." He's played with the Drovers and Tiny Tim as well as a decade's worth of work with dance companies, poets, theatre and performance companies. Hawaiian Leina'ala (vocals, flutes, percussion, drums, didgereedoo) adds a sweet, sensual beauty. Steve Doyle (electric & slide guitar, electric cello) and Dean Langston (drums & percussion) are talented sidemen. Luke Rothschild, the epitome of the tall, eccentric bass player, has left the band to join Verbow. Check out their stellar debut album, Seed (including 8 originals & a cool cover of Amazing Grace), or drop in on one of their fascinating live shows. A track by them also appears on the new Subdisc Volume Two compilation album.
