| Three on the Tree is an American roots rock/alt-country band from Chicago, Illinois. Three on the Tree was formed in 2001 by singer Jon Osing, drummer Kevin Weith and guitarist and producer Drew Weir. Their style covers a wide range of style from country to power pop, from southern twang to bluegrass and gospel. The band spent 2005 in the studio, and released their second full length album "Dust in the Water" in early 2006. "Dust in the Water" was well received by fans and critics, while the band began an ambitious promotional effort, which resulted in airplay on Chicago stations WXRT and WLUW, WTPS in Wisconsin (where DITW went to number 2 on the local music charts), as well as radio stations in Belgium and Australia. In 2006, longtime bassist John Hanko left the group, and was replaced by current bassist Chris Green. The band continues to play in Chicago and the Midwest, and is always writing and refining their sound. Three on the Tree has an eye towards delivering their 3rd album in late 2007. Three on the Tree has shared the stage with some of Chicago and the Midwest’s most premiere bands including Anna Fermin’s Trigger Gospel, Sleeper Car, The Steepwater Band, Tangleweed & Medicine Hat. The band regularly performs at many of Chicago’s best underground venues such as the Beat Kitchen, Subterranean, Elbo Room, Clearwater Theater, Silvie’s Lounge, and Red Line Tap.
